Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
i compared the ingredients to this cake to Martha Stewart's recipe. they're both very similar. but i went with this one over Martha's because this one calls for 2 T more butter and 2 T less milk and i would for sure rather a buttery richer cake. This cake does however call for baking powder than Martha's. hers only calls for 3/4 t baking powder. so i did somewhat follow that modification. well, I used 1 teaspoon baking powder. too much baking powder will make cakes bitter. Overall this cake turned out delicious. It was dense yet still moist. Definitely not a fluffy cotteny cake. This is more wedding cake style, which i prefer. And i agree with jillian, it tastes like a sugar cookie-cake

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
Totally agree with Jenip. These cookies can be soft if you just bake them for 7-8 minutes at 350. Or they can be crispy if you decide to bake them for longer than 8 min. However, I think these cookies were only designed to be soft. Ingredient ratio is great, but it only works for soft cookies. Yes, The cookies will be crisp if you bake them long. Only problem is that they will also be dry. So if u like crisp cookies, dont use this recipe. If you like soft chewy cookies, this recipe is perfect, but only if you underbake.

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
This is the best buckeye recipe youll find. It has the perfect butter to peanut butter ratio. other recipes call for too much peanut butter and not enough butter. With this recipe, the only change you should make is use 5 cups powdered sugar. not 6. with that one fix, its an outstanding recipe. better than reeses! also you can use white and milk chocolate for the coating

This is the same recipe Pillsbury uses. Its the best. I sometimes use Crisco instead of butter and i sometimes stir in 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips (see my photo.) Make sure you only bake these 8 minutes if u want them to be soft

No-Cook Eggnog Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
This recipe is the best. its perfect. i'll be using it a lot from here on out. Don't ever use the allrecipes "easy eggnog ice cream" recipe off this site. its really gross and bland. Luckily "No-Cook Eggnog Ice Cream" is absolutely perfect, trust me!

Easy Eggnog Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
This recipe is NOT good. Its way too bland, because there's not enough sugar. My whole family could only eat one bitet. So I started over and made allrecipes' "No-Cook Eggnog Ice Cream" instead and it was perfect.

Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
ive compareda lot of these cocktail sauce recipes. this one is by far the most simple and acurate. i work at chilis and we make our own cockatil sauce every day there (for our fried and grilled shrimp) but all we do is 6 Tbs ketchup, 2 Tbs of horseradish, a 1/2 tsp of lime juice. all these extra ingredients are pointless. its best just the simple way. less is more. theres a reason chilis likes it the original way and so do all the customers. but like i said, of all the coctail sauce recipes on this site, this ones the best. the brown sugar isnt a must have, but im sure its really good

Really Creamy Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
i thought this was really good. before i made this, i read the reviews and a lot of reviewers said that it was perfect as is and a lot of reviewrs said that theres too much cream cheese, so I decided to just cut out a little cream cheese. i used like 3/4 pkg cream cheese, (so like 6 oz) and then left everything else the same, oh except i used butter instead of oil, just cuz i like butter more. The sauce tasted fabulous and it was so easy to make. I put it over homemade noodles, and then added shrimp. everyone loved it. i bet this would also be good mixed with prego pasta sauce like 50:50 ratio and then mixed with meatballs. i'll try thatnext time

Indoor S'mores

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
I had followed jersies review, and i'm now kind of mad that i did. She said to reduce the marshmallow mixture to 4 cups and increase golden grahms to 6 cups. i followed her advice but it didnt turn out that great. My mixture was too dry for the amount of cereal. So I made it again. And it turned out perfect the 2nd time, my way. so here's how it should be: 3 or 4 T butter, 6 cups golden grahms, 6 cups marshmallows, 1/4 cup corn syrup, 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Melt butter on low, add 5 cups marshmallows and corn syrup and melt completely, add chocolate to melted marshmallows stir, remove from heat, quickly stir in 6 cups cereal and remaining 1 cup marshmallows. press in 9x9 (i use square pan for thicker bars) sprinkle w/ 1/4 cup extra mini chips if desired. chill then cut into squares!

Cookie Dough for Ice Cream (Eggless)

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
im giving it only 4 stars because i think originial recipe is like a 2 and modifications make it like a 5+ so i guess that makes it a 4? anyway, i followed "giggletush's" suggestions, and it turned out great, however i couldnt use the full 1 cup flour, had to use more like 3/4 otherwise it wouldve been too stiff/dry. anyway, i loved the taste of this cookie dough and im a really picky eater. i put it in my ice cream... so yummy!

Lola's Horchata

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I followed other people advice turned out great. Heres how I made it. Put 1-1/3 c uncooked rice in blender. added 2 cups milk. pureed 20 sec. then added 3 cups cold water. pureed 30 more sec. Let soak in refrigerator over night. Next day I once again pureed mixture 20 more sec. then added 1/2 Tablespoon cinnamon, 1 T vanilla, 3/4 cup half and half, and 3/4 c sugar and pureed 20 more sec. Then I poured it into a piture and seved it to everyone over crushed ice in individual cups. I never strained it. My family likes it unstrained and so do all my latin co workers. anyway, good base recipe. (i know adding milk and cream and stuff isnt very traditional. its just how ive always prefered it)

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
way too much flour. too much vanilla, too much sugar. eliminate 1 cup of the brown sugar, eliminate 1/2 cup of the flour and get rid of 2 teaspoons of the vanilla and use 1 cup butter flavored crisco instead of 1 cup butter.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This recipe is short 1/2 cup flour. it should call for exactly 1-1/2 cups of flour. otherwise way to FLAT. Also, add another 1/4 cup of white sugar, add 1/2 t salt, omit the nuts and finally use Crisco instead of the butter. Make these changes, and you'll have a 5 star recipe
