Rhubarb Cherry Crisp
Used arrowroot in place of cornstarch since I was out, light cherry pie filling, and 3/4 cup of sugar instead of a cup. Wasn't too sweet at all, was a very nice balance - would even go with the full cup of sugar called for. I made extra crust because I was worried there wouldn't be enough, but it would have been fine - if anything, I wouldn't have minded more filling. But this was simple, delicious and went over very well for a family dinner. Would make again.

Quinoa and Black Beans
Wow, I was really surprised with how good this was. I didn't have any fresh parsley or vegetable broth, so I used water and addded a bunch more spices including savory, time, celery seed, etc and a couple dashes of worcestershire sauce. I also added some chopped bell pepper in with the onions. I might add a bit more cayenne next time. I put a little sour cream on top - yum! Easy, cheap, healthy, vegetarian, and very filling.

Jenny's Black Forest Cake
I made this as a birthday cake and it turned out wonderful. Just rich enough without being too rich, very moist without falling apart. Used cool whip as a topping, as the cake is fabulous enough without a frosting. Only changes I made was adding a little cardamom to the batter and I omitted the liqueur this time (but will definitely try it next time.) Will definitely make this cake again.
