Pork Chops Paprikash

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
In an effort to cut sugar and flour out of my diet, I opted to substitute an 8 oz can of tomato sauce for the tomato soup. I also left out the water because I didn't think it needed it. I seasoned each side of the pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder which was very good with the sauce. The flavor was wonderful and this will become a go-to recipe for me because it is inexpensive, easy and is on the table in less than 30 minutes. Yum!

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I used two packages of frozen corn - one white and one yellow, halved the amount of butter and used low fat cream cheese. I also chose to omit the sugar and didn't miss it at all. I served this with ham and a potato casserole for Christmas dinner and it was a hit! A few guests even asked for the recipe. This one is a keeper!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This is everything you could hope for in a recipe - fast, easy and fool proof! I always make this as directed with one exception... I use fresh rosemary - it makes a huge difference in flavor! Also, since I only need to feed two, I usually scale down the au jus by half using 1/2 cup of soy sauce and 3 cups of water. It's just enough for my husband and I and it tastes great, although I think I'll take the advice of some of the previous reviews and try using beef broth in place of the water next time.

Easy Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Whenever I start craving lasagna, this is the recipe I turn to! To make it more hearty, I always add a large can of diced tomatoes and a couple cloves of garlic in addition to the sauce. I also like to use the "oven ready" pasta, so I add a cup of water to the sauce so that the pasta will cook as it bakes. Leave the last layer of cheese off. Wrap tightly with foil, bake at 425ºF for an hour, remove foil and add the last layer of cheese and return to the oven just long enough to let it melt. Mmm... absolutely heavenly!

French Breakfast Puffs

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
My grandma used to make these when I was a little girl and they are still a favorite of mine after all these years. She would bake them in a cast iron muffin tin shaped like bears and then dip the whole muffin in butter and roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture. I make them the same way, except I add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter for additional flavor. Love these and the memories that come with them!

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
This was amazing! I followed the suggestion of others by stuffing the chicken with one lemon in addition to the onion and rosemary. I also stuffed a sprig of rosemary under the skin of each breast and rubbed some butter into the skin and sprinkled with salt and pepper before putting it in the oven. It turned out fabulously crispy, tender and oh so flavorful! The drippings made for an excellent gravy which we served over mashed potatoes and stuffing. Thanks for this wonderful recipe. I will be making my roast chickens this way from now on!

Sarah's Banana Bread Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
This is the third banana muffin recipe I've made from this site and this one is by far the best! So easy, too. I followed the recipe exactly, except I substituted chopped pecans for the walnuts. Yum, they turned out delicious!

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
I made this for my husband's birthday yesterday and we both really enjoyed the flavor, but agreed that the consistency was a bit too runny. I used two Oreo brand crusts and a package of Reese's ice cream topping that had cookie bits, peanut butter chips and chocolate sprinkles for the top. It turned out really pretty and the flavors worked well together. I'll make this again, but next time I will leave out the milk.

Teena's Spicy Pesto Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This one is a keeper for sure. I followed the recipe exactly, except at the end I added about 1/4 cup of half and half because the chicken and spice mixture was getting a bit dry. I think I'll go easy on the chili paste next time, as it's a tad bit spicy for my personal tastes. It is still delicious, though. Thanks for a fantastic meal!

Delicious Healthy Strawberry Shake

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
I'm sipping this right now and it's delicious! I made a few changes. I added less milk than was called for to get the true consistency of a shake, and substituted a tablespoon of sugar for the honey. I don't even miss the ice cream! Thanks for a great recipe.

Lemonade Pie IV

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
I used limeade concentrate instead of the lemonade, and both my fiance and I loved it. Very yummy. I still have some concentrate left over, so I'm planning on making two more. Next time I will use the lower fat versions of everything except the crust and concentrate to help make it lighter, since it has enough flavor and sweetness from the limeade. Thanks for the recipe!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
I was true to this recipe, except for adding the wine, because I didn't have any on hand. My fiance went back for seconds and thirds and there's still enough left to feed us for another night. We both loved it, so this one will be saved for sure!

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
I decided to cut some corners on this recipe and use the leftover spaghetti sauce I made in my slow cooker a few weeks earlier. Both my fiance and I really enjoyed it and will definitely be making it again.

Banana Cake X

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
This was a whole lot of yum, and not much effort at all. The only change I made was I added one additional banana to what the recipe called for. I topped it with a cream cheese frosting and it was simply divine! I will definitely use this recipe for my leftover bananas from now on.
