Flourless Chocolate Cake I

Used 8 inch pan, 70% chocolate Lindt bars, cooked it for 50 min. Refrigerated overnight. Placed on counter for 2 hours before serving. Used thin knife in very hot water. Also used prepared espresso coffee that was left in our French press for the water. It was delicious. 4.5 Stars

Sugar Cookie Icing

Wish I could give 4.5. Made Sugar cookie gifts for teachers from my sons school last year. Added Almond extract to both the cookie batter and icing. Excellent! If you need these to dry as fast as possible. Put your cookies in the freezer while making the icing. then put your completed tray in the freezer when done. I was able to walk out the door in 1 hours from the time of making the frosting to stacking them in the contianers. (also my frosting was not real thick)

Quick Cheese Biscuits

Good basic recipe. First batch, I used as directed. Second batch I use some of the suggestions. ** use 3/4 c water instead of milk** 1 cup of cheese and garlic powder in the batter as well as on top.

Mom's Island Treasures

Since I altered this based on reviews I feel I can only give this a 4. Used unsalted butter so I kept the salt in the recipe. I changed the sugar to less, added more pecans, pretty finley chopped, chopped my coconut and added about 1/4 cup more. I used dark chocolate since that combo remided me of a Almond joy with the dark chocolate, coconut and nut. First batch was made too large so I made sure from then on to use only my 1 inch scoop and not to use a heaping scoop. Still took 12 minutes. But taste best after they have been sitting for about 30 min. This gives the cookie time to solidify and cool which allows for better tasting of the flavors.

Pancake Stack with Syrup

These are thick pancakes for sure. Lower the heat in your pan before you burn those pancakes while trying to cook them thru! Other than that I took the advice of others and lowered the baking power to 2.5 tsp, and replaced the veg. oil with butter and 1/2 the sugar since we usually load the pancakes with syrup. Good recipe to add fruit to since they are thick. Thanks!

Italian Meat Loaves

I didnt care for just pork so I mixed 1 lb of ground pork and 1 lb of regular sausage which created a tastier loaf to me.

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Good for basic. Used mozarella and provalone combo that was preshredded. Also used sauce that had garlic chunks so I only added the garlic powder and onion powder. I know it will taste even better tomorrow.

Chicken Stuff

Good as a starting point. I did see that it would be too bland for our taste so I Added fresh broccoli that I boiled for a 7 min. Also added elbow macaroni to stretch the meal and to the cornbread mix I added 2 tbls sour cream and spooned over filling and cooked for 30 min. I seasoned the chicken with paul prudhomme black fish seasoning, garlic and onion powder and used low sodium soup. Thanks, Theresa

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Flavor was good and chicken was tender but the appearance needs work. I cut out the ribs and opened the chicken so that all breast and thigh layed flat and sprinkled garlic powder generously all over it and the spices on the other side. It only got to sit about 45 min because I just found this recipe today. However I will try this again soon using the proper marinating time.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

This was more of a sugar frosting than cream cheese, I put in 3 1/2 cups of sugar and it was over the top sweet with no hit of cream cheese and I used philadelphia brand full fat cream cheese. So I added another 5 ounces of cream cheese to make it taste cream cheesier!

Pecan Pie V

This was fantastic! Easy and delicious. HOWEVER, I added 1 MORE cup of pecans. As one other person said, Cook about 1/2 way thru then add the whole pecans to the top. The Topping comes out a little different looking than traditional pecan as it is from the regular sugar bubbling I suppose but it didnt hamper the taste or look at all! After all the struggle of makign thanksgiving dinner it was sooo nice to cap off a great meal with Hearty and sincere remarks of how good it was and how much better than the caro syrup recipes!

Pan Asian Pork

4 plus if I could rate it that way. I used more pineapple juice and less honey because that is what I had. My chops were not the really thick ones so I took them out after they tested one. Then reduced the syrup over med high until thick and then added 1 tsp of butter to thin as the sauce needed to go a little further. Sliced super thin and served over a mound of white rice and drizzled with sauce and pineapples. served with fresh cooked carrots and then dipped the carrots in the sauce....wonderful!

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Great! I did however, not have dijon so I used Deli Mustard/Guldens and added garlic. I used a sage seasoning mix when I browned the roast as someone suggested then proceded to cook as reccommended. I saved about 1/4 of the basting liquid and reduced it and poured over the meat after slicing.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I didnt have celery salt or onion powder but used paul Prudhomme red fish seasoning in place of it and used powered garlic. I use this recipe on salmon too and it is wonderful. I use a heavier coating of finely grated parmesan on salmn though.

Frogmore Stew

excellent!~ I could only find regular kielbasa so I added the hot red pepper to the water as suggested! Served with the piilsbury french bread that you bake yourself with melted butter! Yum! Great for a crowd.
