Instant Pistachio Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
Incredibly fast/easy/cheap and tastes great!! I think it would be a little less sweet to not add the entire container of whipped cream - and you don't need the entire package of marshmallows. I like to add a little bit of shredded coconut to mine.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
Had so many comments/compliments on this recipe - it is an ultimate favorite, you just can't go wrong!!! I preferred to make mine with raspberry or blackberry preserves....also, careful not to add too much cinnamon/sugar to the chips, it will be sweet overload.

No Bake Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
These are old time favorites - just don't make the mistake I made. I think I added way too much cocoa because I thought 4 tbsp just didn't seem like enough - the cookies came out extremely "crumbly" and you couldn't bite into one without it falling apart. But it still tasted great! If you follow directions as is, and use creamy peanut butter instead of crunchy, they will be perfect.

Easter Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2007
I just made this casserole for the first time and it came out very well. We only used 6 eggs and turkey bacon instead of regular bacon. I pre-cooked the bacon and hashbrowns, then layered the hashbrowns on the bottom as many other reviewers suggested. I put mine in the fridge over night to make in the morning...and I agree that it took a longer time to cook (uncovered) than the 30 minutes it stated. It was more like an hour. I really like this recipe because you can adjust it in just about any way - add vegetables, add cheese, take out eggs, etc. I also followed a tip by another reviewer and added 1/2 cup of sour cream. It was really really good, would definitely make again!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
Just made it today for Thanksgiving, it came out really well. I followed directions as they were, except I did do the 1/2 c. mayo and 1/2 c. sour cream as another reviewer stated. I also eliminated the extra salt as the condensed soup has a lot of sodium already, and the sharp cheddar cheese provides a tangy zip that doesn't require extra seasoning. Great recipe, I'd make again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I am the person who always messes up a chocolate chip cookie recipe. They NEVER work out for me - until now!!! Tonight was my first time making this recipe and they came out FABULOUS! I followed the recommendations of adding 2 tablespoons vanila, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder. Everything else I did exactly as the recipe called - except I used Land O Lakes margarine instead of butter. For my oven, baking at 10 minutes was optimal...I think the baking time will vary for each person as some said that 12 minutes worked best for them. There are some who said the cookies were "cake-like", and I have to disagree. They're thicker cookies yes, but not like cake. It is still a good normal cookie texture. These were so good I grabbed some holiday tins and plan on giving them away as little homemade gifts!! I have tried to make a good chocolate chip cookie for YEARS and have failed EVERY time until now. Definitely a recipe to keep around for a lifetime!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This was my first recipe to make a pot roast and it came out very well. The first time I made it I did brown the meat and it was a tiny bit dry. I'm making it today as we speak and I'm not browning it first to see if there's a difference. Very easy recipe, great flavor...we also used the gravy for mashed potatoes. Definitely a keeper.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
This is an awesome sugar cookie recipe - the consistency is perfect in my opinion. It is soft and delicate, even if you roll the dough out too thin you still get a chewy cookie. I'm a person who prefers a soft cookie to a hard/crunchy one, and most sugar cookie recipes turn out too hard for my tastes. I was pleasantly surprised with this one! I followed the tip of using parchment paper and it worked perfectly...the bottoms didn't burn AT ALL. The entire cookie cooked perfectly at 7 minutes in my oven. I think they came out better than MOST store bought/bakery bought sugar cookies!! The only adjustment I made was adding more vanilla than was indicated - I used 1 tbsp.

Wassail Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I made this following the exact ingredients on the list in their exact measurements. I was very pleased with the way it came out - I didn't think it was too tart at all! The trick is making sure it has thoroughly cooked itself for awhile. I had to make mine on the stovetop for a shorter amount of time than was listed. It simmered there for a few hours and the flavors mixed well when it had been cooking for awhile longer. This is so easy to make I will be doing it again, and yes it smelled wonderful!!

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
We tried this recipe tonight for the first time. I made it verbatim to the directions, except I discovered I was out of garlic powder and instead used onion powder. I still loved the way it came out. It definitely tastes like cilantro which we love here in our household. We grilled salmon fillets and topped it off with this cream sauce - it was perfect! I think the sauce would be great with crab cakes too. I think it's very complimentary to seafood and we will try it with chicken as well.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Excellent cake. Loved the moist bites of chocolate from using the mini chips (as the first comment advises). I made this with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze recipe also found on this site.

Meatball Nirvana

I'm new at meatball making, this was my first recipe to try. It was perfect. I followed the directions and turned the meatballs halfway during the cooking time. We made meatball subs out of them. Definitely a keeper!
