Pear Honey Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
I don't know why I haven't reviewed this before! This will be the third year in a row I've been asked to bring this dish to Thanksgiving dinner. Not everyone in my family likes cranberry sauce, but those that do ask for this every time!

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Wonderful recipe! I doubled the cinnamon and clove. I added the recommended amount of ground ginger but then I also added 6tsp of freshly grated ginger root. Baked it in a loaf pan instead of the 9x9 square. It was delicious with a spoonful of whipped cream.

Ginger Pear Crisp

We love this recipe! I'm making it again to bring to dinner with my grandparents-in-law. We like lots of spices so I added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and 1/4 tsp of nutmeg.

Yogurt Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
I'm really glad I tried this recipe, despite some of the reviews worrying me. I was very careful to turn off the heat when I added the yogurt mix and I didn't heat it much at all after stirring it in, just enough to make everything warm. Also, I would recommend draining nearly all the water off the chicken. You can always add a little water back in if the sauce seems like it's going to be too thick. I used red curry powder instead of mild. Delicious!

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This recipe was delicious! I'm making it to bring to Thanksgiving but I wanted to try it ahead of time to see how it was. It has a lot of fat in it, but you could try substituting lower fat ingredients or just make it only for special occasions. For my husband and I, I served it with ham steaks and sweet corn. I think it'll go really well with the cornish hens my family makes for Thanksgiving.
