Poor Man's Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
I substitute smoke flavoring for soy sauce. Been making this a couple years now, and I would have said 4, but my husband requests it so much and can't get enough, so I have to give it a five.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2010
I'll increase the cobbler part next time, there wasn't very much dough, and there were tons of berries and syrup.

West Indian Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
all the other reviewers must have been tweaking the recipe. Too much curry, too much salt. This is nothing like what I was craving when I tried it.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
If I am correct, the rumor is that the combination of these ingredients cause a chemical reaction that burns the fat, so while others are correct that it can be added to and still used for weight loss, the "fat burn" effect is supposed to happen if you don't alter the recipe. I don't know if this is a myth or not, but it is totally doing the trick for me. I don't see how anybody could eat nothing but this soup, after a couple hours I feel jittery like I need food bad. perhaps it is increasing my metabolism? But even with my midnight oreos I can't give up, and all my other high calroie habits, I am still losing weight.

Lengua (Beef Tongue)

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
It was my families first time with lengua and we are impressed. This recipe probably has a lot to do with our liking it. I used chilli peppers in place of jalapenos because the kids can tolerate it a lot better. We turned into tacos as well, with my husbands homemade salsa with tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro, onions, lemon juice and garlic powder. I even chased the kids with the tongue before cooking, and they still liked eating it!!

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
It wasn't bad, but we didn't care much for it either. The kids wouldn't touch it because it was too spicy, and they normally like brocolli and tolderate spicy stuff.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
YES!! We loved this! Havent stopped making it. I now like to add sliced bell peppers just to add more health and flavor! The kids complain it's a bit too spicy, but they still eat it.

Julia's Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies In A Jar

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I made this in the jar and my husband and I agreed that it didn't look as good as the others we had done, so we decided to just go ahead and make them and use a different recipe for holiday gift. The cookies had great flavor, but they went very flat and even stuck to the cookie sheet. By the way, I used 2 eggs because I didn't know how to use 1 1/2. Perhaps this was the problem?

Best London Broil Ever!

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I give this a 4 because, while it wasn't the "Best Ever" as advertised, it was very good, and the fact that it was so easy made it even better!!! I have made this a few times now, wonderful time saver and the family loves it.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I give this 3 stars. It wasn't at all bad, and was good enough that we finished it off, but not quite good enough that I'd make it again.

Golden Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
This is a great recipe. I did have to change some things, because I had no mushrooms I just had to omit them :-( I also added onion soup mix, because that's how I like to season most things, and I didn't have enough time to cook it in the oven, so I fried it in a frying pan with the onions and then added the cream of mushroom soup and cooked it the rest of the way. This recipe was easy, fast, and tasted good. I'll use it again.

Black Beans with Bacon

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
I also used canned beans, more bacon, and I omitted the carrots. I used a lot of seasonings including a lot of cummin. I am very impressed! It was awesome!
