Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
This is a great base but I had to make too many changes to give it a higher rating. I didnt use frozen dough, I whipped up a batch of "Sy's Challah" from this site. I also omitted the green onion/eggs, used minced garlic instead of the powder and had to up the butter to approx 1/2 cup as what was listed wasnt nearly enough. I made two for a dinner party and everyone gobbled them up!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Great recipe! I used the "pie crust IV" recipe from this site to go with it. For my first time making it I was really impressed and it was a definite hit at dinner! The only addition I made was to add 1/8tsp of lemon juice to the egg whites to counteract the shrinking/weeping and I used about 4 lemons (1/2 cup of juice) and omitted the rind since I dont like the gritty texture. Will definitely use again. Thanks!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
Just finished making a 'test batch' before having to make a birthday cake this weekend and cant believe how good this came out. I'm not a fan of chocolate cake but this one will be the exception. Super moist and fudgy, and it almost seems to taste better after being in the fridge. I followed the recipe almost exactly with the exception of melted butter for the veg oil. I also used ruddy red cocoa which I've never seen before and I was a little worried that the cake would turn out red LOL (it didnt)...I also omitted the salt since I'm not a fan. I think for the next batch I'll follow the other reviews and up the cocoa to 1 cup other than that I wont change a thing!

Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I needed a cake for a dinner I was attending and this recipe was a hit!! I didnt have cherries which I guess defeats the purpose of this recipe so I used coconut instead. I added about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of both sweetened and unsweetened coconut, switched the vanilla for almond extract and creamed the life out of the butter, cream cheese and sugar. It was absolutely amazing!!! Instead of the glaze I made a white icing and topped it off with toasted coconut. Complete 360 from this recipe but it definitely gives you the foundation to mix n match. Excellent recipe, thank you!!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Although I read the tips from others I didnt change anything except using a mix of crunchy and smooth peanut butter and I added about an extra half cup. I also creamed the butters and sugars for a little longer than normal and added a splash of almond extract. The cookies came out perfect! Not thin or too crispy at all! A recipe I'll definitely use again. Thanks!!

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
I decided to try this recipe for my office cookie exchange and as a novice baker I found this extremely easy to make! I followed the recipe for the most part to a 'T' with the exception of using butter instead of margarine and brown sugar in the filling instead of white. The advised baking times were bang on. Although, after the first batch I started taking them out 5 minutes sooner and batches 2-4 came out with the creamy consistency I was looking for. Word to the wise - this is definitely not for those on a diet and can become slightly habit forming, so make with caution! Great recipe!
