Farm Macaroons

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
These are the Best!!! They looked like little fluffy pillows when they came out. Was not too happy the first time I made them, but did'nt whip the whites long enough. This time it was wonderful. Thanks

Seven-Up™ Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
This is the BEST! I put 1-1/2 tsp. of lemon {I like the flavor} and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, instead of 1 tsp. each flavoring. The texture was dreamy, as was the taste. Left it for 1/2 an hour to cool, and it came out perfectly. Cant say enough about it. Thanks, Sandee

Strawberry Marshmallow Frosting

Recipe turned out wonderful. Very easy to make, took about 10 minutes to get the syrup right. Made enough for a very large angel food.

Date Nut Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Another great bread recipe. Might be common knowledge, but when you want chopped dates and use a chopper, blender, or food processer, add a little sugar to the whole dates and it will go alot smoother.

4H Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
Can't give it a 5, since I took hints from other cooks. More bananas, sour cream to replace the milk, butter rather than margarine, 1/2 brown, 1/2 white sugar, then threw in golden raisins, about a cup, and 1/2 chopped walnuts. Turned out great, and thanks to ONYX78 Nov. 6 2004 for her help. Cookie

Egg and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
I also took a hint from a review and did this in muffin papers. WRONG!! Lost about half of the goodies in the paper. Next time, I'll spray the muffin tins and take my chances. The recipe itself is a delight. I got 5 stars when I served it. One comment was, "You should have used edible muffin papers"!

Gave it 5, 'cause it comes up to the decription, the picture, and the comments. Doubled the recipe with no problem.

Excellent recipe. Did add a bit of honey as suggested. Used red, green and black grapes and bedded it on greens in a trifle bowl. Looked very pretty. cookiegirl

Pumpkin Puree

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Although this seems simple enough, unfortunately, simplicity is not always the solution. After scraping out the flesh, you have to process the pulp in a food processer or a very good blender in order to achieve a smooth puree result. To make it right, it will take TIME. Cookie

Cinnamon Pastries

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
These were soooooo well received by the residents I cook for, and no idea that they were made with inexpensive white bread! However, I did cut back on the cinnamon by only using 2 Tbs. Will definately keep this one in my files. Thank you, Cookie

Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I've been making this recipe for more years than I'd care to admit to, and outside of the mayo, it's always served me well. I usually only use I.M.O. (a substitute for sour cream) rather than mayo and sour cream. Cookie

I had never heard of Rugelach before, but after making it more times then I can count, this recipe is wonderful! The residents that I cook for that are diabetic, really appreciate how great the taste is. Thank you again.

Orange Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
Excellent recipe. I don't like to grate orange peel, so buy it in the store in the spice section. So much easier to use. For those of you who love the sticky sweetness of the original, you will be surprised how fresh this one tastes as well as being sweet.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Never cooked corned beef in a slow cooker before, and since I didn't have any beer, used beef broth as suggested. Turned out perfect. Used the cooking liquid to cook the potatoes, carrots and cabbage seperately after the beef was cooked. Great!

Crackle Top Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
I tripled the recipe as I cook for an assisted living home, and the residents could hardly wait until they came out of the oven!! Great recipe! I used 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugar, more cinnamon and less ginger and cloves, just because of my taste and the residents. Wish I could give more stars. Thanks so much.
