Hummus III

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
I think this is a good base, but I have made it three times and it always comes out too thick. Not sure what I am doing wrong. It is good with some of the bean liquid or extra olive oil added. As written it is just too thick.

Easy Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Reviewed: May 27, 2007
I thought this was somewhat flavorless. I cut the lemon back to 1/4 cup and kept everything else the same. I followed the advice others and removed the skin on the chickpeas (this does make for very smooth hummus). I am not sure what happened, but it does not "pop" like some of the other hummus recipes on here (Lemon garlic and Jalapeno). Maybe it was the jar of red peppers we used.

Lemon Garlic Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
Wow. This is really addictive. Like others, I used olive oil, but I cut it down to 1/2 cup. Leaving it in the fridge over night thickened the hummus up a bit but also allowed the flavors to come together nicely. The garlic is powerful, so beware when speaking around those who did not eat the hummus.

Baked Cornish Game Hens

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
It was a good recipe. It was the first time I made game hens. I usually do not succeed with poultry, but this was good.

Jalapeno Hummus

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
Super easy to make. Follow the recipe and use canned jalapenos. We used fresh and the hummus was dry. About 1 tbs. of olive oil fixed the dryness.

Hot Bean Dip

This was very easy to make. Even after it cooled, everyone at the party continued to rave about it.

Sausage and Apple Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
The stuffing was the best part of Thanksgiving. It has a nice sweet flavor that enhances the traditional savory dishes nicely. It did not keep beyond the second day of leftovers.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
This was a great hit at our football party. I am not a fan of the mayo based versions. This was exceptionally creamy and stuck together well on the chips.

Maple Apple Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
I am not sure what I did wrong, but this was not a hit at my house. The custard part sat on top of the apples and created an unappealing layered effect where the topping was super rich and the apples were sort of dry. It smelled really good, but the flavor was too separated for my family.

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
Everyone at our Football party loved these. They take a long time to make - rolling out the balls, melting the chocolate, and then dipping. It took one person about 2 hours to make them - not including the 2 hour time in the fridge to set.
