Fresh Pear Pie

I made this pie with just ripe Anjou pears. Pears are fairly mild in flavor so this pie tasted more like the spices then the actual pears. It wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to make it again. I did think the lemon flavor was a little overwhelming, would skip the lemon peel next time. The tapioca was a cool touch, it gave the pie a good "jelly" texture.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

How can you ever go back to store bought after trying this recipe? I use regular oatmeal and will alter my bread flour to wheat flour ratio. I've used as much as half (6 cups) of whole wheat flour and had it turn out fine.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Seriously, how could these not be delicious? Cookie dough in a cupcake, all it needs is bacon to be the perfect dish. Definitely not your last minute recipe but great for parties. I got a kick out of watching people think they were eating an ordinary cupcake then WHAM, cookie dough.

Mediterranean Orzo Spinach Salad

I make this often using firm tofu instead of lamb. I cook the tofu just as the lamb but practically double the seasonings. This salad is a meal unto itself.

Scrumptious Frosted Fudgy Brownies

These brownies were beyond amazing! Sooooo chocolately. By far my favorite brownie i've ever made. Reminded me of molten chocolate cake.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

I followed the recipe to a T and yet something felt missing. The cinnamon flavor was great but it wasn't rich enough. Maybe I'll try butter instead of oil next time.

Rhubarb Crunch

I doubled the fruit and added a bit of cinnamon. I thought it was delicious and recieved many compliments. If anyone ever hands me a wad of rhubarb again i'll definitely make this!

Chocolate-Filled Crinkles

I thought these cookies were amazing! I made the dough exactly as written but simplified the filling. I used 1 cup of Hersey kisses and coconut milk to make instead of condensed. Also, I didn't have any nuts or flakes so I left them out. I used my thumb to make a rather large indent into the dough balls and to my amazement the filling didn't spill over! The name "crinkles" doesn't seem appropriate. I would rename them Chocolate Lava pools.

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

I use whole wheat and 3 bananas in this recipe still find it to be wonderfully moist. I also leave out the nuts. I make it two batches at a time so I can freeze slices for my 1 year old. He loves it and I'm guilt free giving it too him. A great healthy banana bread!

Stuffed Peppers

I used Italian Sausage, onion soup mix, and topped these off with sour cream and dill. They turned out fantastic although I prefer using red peppers to green. I will definitely make again.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Ridiculous! If you think you're just going to leave these around the house and somehow manage to control yourself, FORGET IT! The most amazing thing about these bars is how fast they disappear. I used crunchy PB but don't think it made a difference.

Peanut Butter Bars

Great flavor with on hand ingredients! These bars turned out great with the exception of cooking a little too long on the sides. The texture wasn't exactly what I was looking for but they definitely taste better than they look. Also, I forgot to grease the pan but had no problems. I omitted the icing and don't think i'm missing anything. Would definitely make again because if I wanted a quick treat without a trip to the store.

Chocolate Kiss Peanut Butter Pie

I love love love this pie. I just went to the store and got enough ingredients to make it 3 times this week. I use a graham cracker crust and don't bother heating up the pudding/peanut butter mix. With instant pudding its not necessary. Try this pie, if you're not affraid of getting hooked that is!

Mexican Rice II

This is an excellent, simple and delicious recipe. Tastes great AND like real mexican rice. I added a jalapeno for color but otherwise followed the recipe to a T. I love it, i'm making it again tonight (2nd time in 4 days)!! I eat it with some pinto beans and a bit of sour cream.

Vanilla Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin pie is normally not my favorite so when I decided to make this I wasn't too enthusiastic. To my delight it turned out to be absolutely delicious!! I used fresh pumpkin pulp, whole milk, and corn starch instead of flour. If you don't like pumpkin pie try this and you'll be converted!

Toll House Walnut Pie

I'm really on the fence about this pie! I used 1/2 c. of butter like the other reviewers said and I can't imagine needing anymore than that. One one hand this pie really did taste like a gooey cookie but on the other hand if I wanted that i'd be better off just making cookies. Although the flavor was good the pie crust seemed to clash with the cookie flavor. Also, it doesn't look that good, for those of you that care about apperance.
