Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
I tweaked it a bit and used 3 avacados and garlic/herb feta cheese (it's what I had on hand). This recipe is fantastic!! Even my children gobbled it up!

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Best rolls ever. I throw them in the bread machine, take the dough out, pat it, and simply cut them into rolls. Works beautifully. We feed the college students from out church every Sunday night and they just devour these. Thanks!

Spinach and Feta Pita Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Love, Love, Love this!! It was so simple to make, and it was still delicious. My small children even ate it up. I did add sliced mushrooms, and they blended very well with all of the other ingredients.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Since I tend to like very sweet things, I went with 3/4 c. sugar to 1 c. wine. This was even too sweet for me! The flavor was still fantastic, but I think that next time I'll cut it to 1/2 c. I added sliced mushrooms and onions. As other reviewers have said, the mushrooms were amazing! I did thicken it a bit with a dab of cornstarch dissolved in water.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
This really left a lot to be desired for us. The flour was too much and the salt not enough. I ended up throwing in more seasonings in the end because it wasn't enough. Thanks anyway.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
We absolutely loved this!! I cut the salt to 3t. based on other reviews and used green chiles since I didn't have a jalapeno. Thanks!!

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
My husband would have given it a 5, however, I would only give it a 2. I found the breadcrumbs to be overwhelming--too "crumby" in some parts, too gooey in others. I may try it again and just severely limit the breadcrumbs. Thank you for taking the time to post it!!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
While I was preparing the chicken I let the garlic sit in the oil and make friends. I followed the recipe exactly. My children LOVED it and my husband said he'd like for me to make it again. Good job!

Spicy Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
These were amazing!! I used a chipotle pepper because that was the only kind I had in the house, and they were wonderful. I made them into meatballs, but next time I'll do the burgers as you suggested. I'll probably top then with pepper jack cheese or something. Yum!

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Oh, My. Word. These were delicious!! I didn't have raisins, so I subbed chocolate chips--cranberry and chocolate is fantastic together anyway! Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly! Amazing!!

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Delicious! I am, however, going to be one of THOSE people who change things up in the recipe. I used 1 c. each zucchini, carrot, and apple (as I had read in another review), 1/2 c. oil, 1/ c. applesauce (instead of 1 c. oil), and 1 c. brown and 1 c. white sugar (instead of 2 white). I also sprinkled in some nutmeg. YUM! I gave it five stars because it was already a great recipe, I just added some of my own stuff. Thanks!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I adore this recipe!! A friend and I made 4 pies to take to our sons' school. One of the recipients of our pies wrote in to the school and asked to pass the message to us that that was the best pie he had ever had in his life!! Wow! Thank you for helping me bless others!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I would have given it 5 stars, but each time I made it (and I made it 4 times for four different batches of cookies) I had to add an extra 1-2 . milk. Fantastic recipe though!! I never have powdered egg whites, and don't want to purchase them to make icing infrequently. The colors were so pretty and everyone just raved about how beautiful the cookies turned out. Thank you!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Seriously, if I could give this more stars, I would. We love it and are rather disappointed when the pan is empty. The only change I made it to increase the sauce by 1/3 and reduce the peas to 1/2 cup. Thanks for a great recipe.

My family and I adore this stuff!! The only change I make is to add 2 cans of corn instead of one.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
I have NEVER been able to make bread before. I guess I just don't have the touch. However, THIS bread worked perfectly. I had never made a sponge before. It rose wonderfully and baked up beautifully. The second time I made it I halved it. It tastes wonderful too! Thanks!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
This chili wasn't bad. However, I don't think it was anything exceptional. The only change I made was using canned chilis instead of fresh ones. I probably would not make it again, but not because it was bad...it was just so-so for us.

Gourmet Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This pie was very attractive. However, the taste left something to be desired. It needed spices of some sort in the pumpkin. And the texture of the pumpkin filling was yuck! It needed eggs or something. It was almost just like eating the pumpkin from the can.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
I was a bit puzzled about pouring the liquids over the pie, but did it anyway. I loved this pie!! I'm not usually the apple pie fan, but I was this time. The syrupy stuff was great. The only change that I MIGHT make would be to add nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. to the apples. I did miss that part. It was wonderful!
