Scotch Eggs with Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
This recipe is delicious as written! It will also be fun to play with the ingredients as well. Update - interesting... I had made this recipe and rated it accordingly, as stated here. I then had said how it bothers me when people give recipes a poor rating based striclty on the fact that they don't care for the ingredients, having never actually made it. That part of my review was removed, but the poor ratings by people who seem to think it is their job to monitor our health are still on here. I'm sure this review won't last long either... Great recipe, however!

Chicken Avocado Pizza

This recipe is delicious as written! It will also be fun to play with the ingredients as well. FYI - Webster's definition of pizza: a dish made typically of flattened bread dough spread with a savory mixture usually including tomatoes and cheese and often other toppings and baked. This recipe is certainly a pizza!

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

This recipe is delicious as written. If you are worried about too much sugar, simply omit the brown sugar. Changing the ketchup to tomato sauce totally alters the taste.

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
Thanks for this fantastic recipe! As did a previous reviewer, I also used fresh basil and it was fantastic! Don't leave out the red pepper flakes. They give this recipe a nice zip! I think I might add some fresh sauteed mushrooms next time. What a great recipe to play with!

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
So tasty! Thanks for the great recipe! I had never made risotto before and it was perfect! I added some basil and tarragon while it was cooking, and at the end added some boneless, skinless chicken thighs that I had cut up and browned with some onion and garlic. Yum!

Detroit Hot Honey Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
Oh, YUM! My family doesn't like things very hot, so I just skipped the red and black pepper. Delish! I also fried the wings, and then tossed with the sauce and baked for a about 20 min. Great recipe!

Cool Whip® Banana Split Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This was good, but the recipe kind of irritated me. The photo shows four distinct layers in the pie, not including the stuff on top of the Cool Whip (and shows fresh strawberries in a layer, which are not even called for in the recipe). This recipe does not accomplish those layers. I would like the recipe for the pie in the photo.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
If you saute fresh mushrooms, onion, and garlic (skip the garlic powder) to add, and add some Worcestershire sauce this comes out so much better for not much more work.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
Pretty good. I used four cloves of garlic, 1/2 honey & 1/2 maple syrup, and a teaspoon of Creole seasoning for a little heat. I'm sure I'll make these again.

I made this for my preschool class and served it with ginger snaps. They ate it ALL!

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
This is a keeper for my family. I also used two boxes of mix and tomatoes with green chiles. I used a huge onion and green pepper, and added garlic. The cornbread was a little sweet, so I'll look for a mix that is not so sweet. Thanks for the great, easy recipe!

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
Awesome. I added ginger garlic, a dash of Chinese Five Spice, and salt (instead of garlic salt) and pepper as I used light soy sauce. This recipe is fantastic just the way it is, but have fun playing with it. I also grilled it over charcoal. Delish!

Crab Puffs

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
Would have given it 5 stars, but it needed fresh crushed garlic and chopped green onion. Make sure you serve these immediately after frying. They need to be hot and crisp. Thanks.

Pineapple Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
I didn't bother making this into a ball. Just put it into a little dish & put the pecans on top. I skipped the celery. thought it needed something and added a little seasoning salt. Served it with Wheat Thins. Perfect! Thanks!

Onion Rings

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
Whoda thunk? Pancake mix! I've been looking for the perfect onion rings recipe for years and here it is! I didn't quite understand the "lazy" comment. I love to cook from scratch, but I'm all about easy & delicious. I cooked these in a really heavy pan on the stove on high heat, turning them once and they came out perfect! I didn't add any seasoning, but I might play around with that next time. Thanks!
