Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
Very good but just so unhealthy. Kinda tough to get out of the pan without breaking. May have to let them cool for 7 minutes or so in the pan before getting out.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
Never a fan of yellow box cakes since they taste so airy but this was still good. Especially with the chocolate buttercream frosting recipe on this site. Used Nestlé cookie dough in the yellow package. It was already pre-sliced into exactly 24 squares so it makes this recipe extremely easy. Madelyn made these. Good to add something different to the plain box cupcake.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
Extremely easy and delicious. Used milk instead of evaporated milk. Frosting had a tendency to slide off cupcake when eating it though. So maybe try a little less milk or a tablespoon more of cocoa.

Whole Wheat Pumpkin-Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
Wasn't thrilled with these at all. Too much pumpkin pie artificial taste. Tasted better with raisins than without.

Autumn Apple Salad II

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2014
Very good, but tart. Could try regular red apples or a sweeter kind. Kids of course don't like the slivered almonds. Cherry craisins are yummy!

Added a can of cream of mushroom to the sauce and doubled the sauce but just used what was left of the French onion; baked at 375 degrees for 45 minutes with foil cover

Quinoa Tabbouleh

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
Not a fan, although I did use cilantro instead of parsley. Too dry. Didn't like all the leaves of the cilantro. Used food processor for carrots and didn't use tomatoes.

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
Easy. Used 1/2 c. Butter and 3/4 c. Brown sugar, and 1 can of apple; just squirted some syrup on at the end and boiled for 4 minutes or so. - cook for over 75 minutes - more like 1.5 hrs. If find a cherry filling with no high fructose add that with the apple - do cover with nonstick foil cos it fluffs up and may stick to foil

Tuna Noodle Casserole III

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2014
For tuna noodle casserole, this was pretty good and even the kids ate it just fine. Changes are a must: 1/3 c. Sour cream, 1/3 c. Milk, sprinkle garlic salt, sprinkle bread crumbs (NOT 1/4 c.) and shredded cheese; cook for 15 minutes in white oblong casserole dish

So good! But kids didn't like of course. Serves with brown basmati rice. Added green peppers at the beginning and that was just fine. 3 packages of venison chops for my family

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2014
Too gooey if not cooked therefore cook at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes, stirring it halfway. Half a bag of miniature marshmallows = 20 large marshmallows Could try less brown sugar...more marshmallow and pb.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
Husband and I thought this was excellent. The honey-cumin sauce is great. The only thing I'd change is the spiciness. Too hot for me. So next time I might deseed half of the peppers (I doubled the recipe). But I thought it was an excellent change up in the meal routine. (Kids didn't like it at all though) Thanks for the recipe!

Banana Pancakes I

Kids really liked them. Use applesauce instead of oil and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Would be great as waffles too I think.
