About this Cook
I am a busy wife and mother of two with a full time professional carreer. I am a Maritimer but I've been living in Montreal, Canada for the last 8 years. I'm just now finding some joy in cooking so I like to try new recipes to start cool and tasty family traditions
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles. Chicken, fish (especially salmon and tuna steaks)and lots of vegetables. My husband takes care of grilling on the BBQ.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was not a great cook but my Dad had a French restaurant at one point in his life. Sooo, we've always enjoyed fondue and flambé stuff and long, interesting meals.
My cooking triumphs
Not too many yet. Just getting in the kitchen and making simple but tasty dishes my 2 year old will love is triumph enough for now.
My cooking tragedies
I burn things... that's pretty bad in general.

Company Couscous
Tasty! Made it as is except it really doesn't need to be baked in the oven. Save the energy and time and serve right out of the skillet. It was a hit with the kids and the hubby. Couscous can be bland but this was delicious.

Salmon with Pineapple Tomato Salsa
This is soooooo good!! Made it as directed by originator, did not change a single thing and it was great. My husband told me he would pay for this in a restaurant. That, in itself, says a lot.

Cauliflower Casserole
I made this recipe with mixed frozen vegetables instead of just cauliflower and it turned out great. I cooked the vegetables beforehand so they we just a little undercooked and then prepared the dish. I have to say that my family really liked this recipe but it might be because of all that butter. I cut the butter quantity in half (1/4 cup)when I made and still, I felt there was way too much. So next time I make it, I will probably only use a few tablespoons instead of of the recommended 1/2 cup.
