About this Cook
I watched my mother make amazing meal after meal for a family of 8 with an empty cupboard and no fancy tools or gadgets, I call this love food! Today, I cook and bake for my children just like she did I suppose. Each night I anticipate for the silence over our dinner table after I serve a meal I made because I know I made a winner. "It's so good no one wants to talk Mom" I cook for silence....

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo
Do give this recipe a try. As many of us on here I “tweaked” it according to what I had on hand and to what my family likes. It is the basic rue, flour and stock, as in the milk. I used to be a bit nervous making rue but once mastered there is never a need to buy any sauce of any sorts. My only error in this recipe was skipping the salt with the pasta and the 1 tablespoon in the sauce. Add the salt! Just keep adding a mixture of your choice with the milk, half and half and cheese until you see the desired density you enjoy. I added broccoli, mushrooms, chicken and definitely the cheese. A great first basic recipe everyone should learn. Good posting and thanks!

Oven Fried Chicken IV
I was disappointed with the outcome and was so let down after the effort. I didn’t follow the recipe exactly on the seasoning level only. I added garlic powder, thyme, sage, chicken seasoning, salt, pepper and chilli powder. Perhaps this is where it fell apart but the cream mixture of sour cream and a splash of half and half cream I was sure would add something different. It didn’t matter one bit, sour cream added nothing but extra fat and cost where water and any seasoning mixture would do.

Easy Beef Pot Pie
A great basic but in need of spices and extra flavor since I had no thyme. I made my own pastry pie crust and to that added one generous teaspoon of basil and a few shakes of onion powder. To the mix added salt, pepper, roasted garlic and dried tomatoes. I also added 1/2 can of milk instead of water. I really liked the Worcestershire sauce in the soup, nice flavor. Thanks for the post!
