Chef John's Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
I was looking for a new twist on stuffed peppers and THIS IS IT! They look and taste amazing- I think it is the vingegar in the tomato sauce. I grabbed a hint from another site and rubbed the peppers with olive oil and broiled them for 10 minutes- Perfection :)

I was SO surprised to hear that this was a New Years tradition with the dutch, even though we made these EVERY New Years day- I thought it was just a family thing LOL! Our recipe did not use yeast and is very easy to make: 2 cup of buttermilk 3 tbsp oil 1 1 /4 cup sugar 2-3 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup raisins 4 cups of flour. Mix all ingrediants and deep fry till golden . makes about 3 dozen YUM- bring on the holidays!

Corn Casserole III

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2008
Our family loves this casserole, but my recipe calls for 2 eggs- and it is never runny. Try it- it will become a family must have!(I gave it 4 stars b/c it was missing the eggs.)

Holland Boterkoek

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This Dutch Treat is DELICIOUS! It tastes like I used Almond Paste, but without the hassle and expense.I make this ALL the time. Don't even think of using margarine. It is quick and tasty. I usually brush the top with milk or egg whites. I've made it in the pie plate, sliced in wedges, and in a square pan, and cut into small bars. It is ALWAYS a hit!

Creamy Vegetable Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2007
I make this recipe ALL THE TIME! Perhaps the other reviewer added to much water, but it isn't too watery with 2 quarts of water. Just be careful when melting the Velvetta to stir often, or the cheese will stick and burn.

Tortellini Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
I loved this recipe! I would definitely add more broth, as it became more like a stew after it was cooked. And I will use fresh tortellini, the frozen was tasteless. IT makes a very large pot of soup.
