Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
This was a good recipe. I did think that it needed some extra spices (minced garlic, garlic powder and onion powder). I think next time I will add some minced onions as it seemed that some bites were full of flavor and others were a little bland. All in all, a good recipe that I will definitely be making again!

Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I thought this hummus was great! I used red pepper flakes because I didn't have the jalapeno peppers and also added hot sauce and worcesterchire and just a sprinkle of olive oil. This recipe is much healthier than traditional hummus! Update: I've made this many times since my original review. It's easy to make substitutions and this still turns out great! I now like to add a few pickled jalapenos since I never have fresh on hand and I like to add some of the juice from the jar and a few shakes of hot sauce as well. Yum! If I make this for company, I add a few tablespoons of olive oil for a creamier consistency. Everyone seems to like the taste of this dip better than store bought hummus & I love how much cheaper it is too! It's a win, win situation :o)

This recipe is Always a hit at my house! I make it all the time without guacamole because sadly my husband doesn't like it and it is still very good!

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
I thought this recipe was pretty good. My husband had seconds :-) I think it needs some olive oil to keep it from drying out. I cooked it for 26 minutes and it was pretty rubbery. I did use regular feta and diced tomatoes with dried basil because that's the only feta I had.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2007
I would give this ten stars if I could!! The only thing I changed is that I let the lamb marinate in minced garlic for an hour and I didn't have shallots so I used dried minced onion in the reduction. YUM!!

Piggy Wiggys

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Ok, who doesn't love these? They are great any time of the year especially football season! Especially good served warm with mustard. Side note: I've found that one crescent can be cut in four strips so that one container of eight can wrap 32 cocktail sausages. Hope this helps! :-)

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
This dip was very good. I added the whole block of cream cheese (what are you gonnna do with that other half?) :-) I also added onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper because I put those spices in basically everything I make! Update 01/11/08: Add a little chicken broth to the mix to make this more spreadable. Also add a splash of both hot sauce and lemon juice Yum! Many of my guests claimed this was actually better than restaurant style dip!!

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
Use the "hot" variety of sausage, double the milk and flour because Very thick if not and add finely diced onion, ground sage, a dash of cayanne pepper, plenty of salt and use lots of freshly ground pepper for that southern sausage gravy taste! Yum :-)

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
This recipe is SO good!! My family loved it. I can see how the crumbly crust can be a problem so next time (and there will be a next time) I may add another Tablespoon of melted butter to the crust. Note: I used yellow cake mix and baked in a 9 x 13 pan

Quick and Easy Fruit Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
This was really good! I did as another reviewer suggested and added a sprinkle of cinnamon because I served it at a fall themed bridal shower. Try this dip! It's cheaper and more delicious than the pre-made dips at the grocery store!

Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
Similar to one that my family has made for holidays for as long as I can remember! Instead of green onions, we use half a cup of regular onions and we also use cream of celery instead of cream of mushroom. Oh yeah, and top it off with either butter crackers or corn flakes mixed with melted butter. Yum!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This recipe went over very well with my family for Thanksgiving. I only made a few modifications out of personal preference: I used 1/2 cup white sugar instead of one whole cup since it also has brown sugar and added 1 tsp. cinnamon & 1/2 tsp. nutmeg & 3T. of orange juice.

Microwave Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
All I can say is WOW! This was so good & my husband couldnt' get enough. The only changes I made was to add onion and garlic powder when I put the clams in. Yummy! Update: If you are pinched for time, add a large can of 98% fat free clam chowder after the potatoes are done cooking. It's great and with the bacon already in it, might as well cut out a little fat elsewhere!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
Wow, I didn't know that a turkey could be this easy and still taste so delicious and moist! I added two chopped onions, celery and carrots both inside the turkey and surrounding it in the pan. I also sprinkled sage all over the turkey with the seasoned salt. The only warning I have is that you might want to either reduce the amount of bouillon used or the seasoned salt because this makes Very salty gravy with so much sodium in the broth that cooks out

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This was really yummy and it's nice to have for a no fail recipe when under pressure from new guests! I would probably say that you should taste it as you go and only add seasoned salt if it's your personal preference. I didn't feel like it needed any more salt but we dont' add a lot most of the time so it could just be my family :-)
