Mushroom, Leek, Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
I must admit, this recipe didn't sound like it would wow me, but boy was I wrong! There's something about the combination of sausage and tortellini in chicken broth with fresh cilantro and hot sauce - WOW! The flavors all mesh beautifully and develop into the most tasty, delicious soup I've had in a LONG time. Definitely give this one a try - it's amazing how much flavor you get with minimal ingredients! Oh, also, I didn't have leeks on hand so I used a whole onion instead and it was fantastic.

Three Cheese Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
I am a huge mac and cheese fan, and also a huge egg noodle fan, but sadly, I thought this recipe was horrible. The flavor was bland and also a little odd tasting, but the worst part was the consistency. I followed other reviewers' advice and omitted the cottage cheese, yet it was still soggy instead of gooey. Even with just one egg, it was far too eggy. I will definitely not make this again, and it's bummer because I had such high hopes.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
These were so delicious that my boyfriend begs me to make them again and again. You wouldn't think from the ingredients that they'd be this spectacular, but something about the mustard and onion and butter just makes the whole thing come together. Try these once and you'll be hooked. Also, I followed the recipe to a "T" and I have to say I wouldn't change a thing.

Kielbasa Skillet Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
This was very tasty and so easy to make. I followed the exact recipe and I have to say two things: 1) Do not skip the crumbled bacon because it really makes the dish and 2) reduce the thyme by 1/2. Thyme is such a strong flavor that both my brother and boyfriend thought it completely overpowered the flavor of all the other wonderful ingredients. That said, I served this with a dollop of sour cream on top and some sourdough rolls and it was a hit! I will definitely make this again, especially on a cold night.

Creamy Mashed Potatoes II

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
Hands down, the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten. Smooth, light, airy, creamy, and SO flavorful. Don't skip the oven step, whatever you do! It's worth the wait and that's what makes these so fabulous. I followed the recipe exactly to a "T" and I'm glad I did because they were just perfect.

Cola Pot Roast I

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
This SMELLED amazing, but the flavor didn't knock my socks off (or my boyfriend's). It was your standard pot roast, nothing more, nothing less. I do love that you can make it at a moment's notice with pantry ingredients, so that's why I'm giving it 3 stars.
