Sauteed Green Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
Who knew green beans would have so much flavor! These were delicious. I did drain most of the bacon grease off, though. Adding butter is plenty. Also added my almonds nearer to the end. This is by no means meant for a fat-free diet. But, will make these again for sure!!

Zucchini and Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
Having some zucchini and wanting to use some up I'm glad I found this recipe! I did mince up a clove of garlic and used some of that instead of using the powder. This was great! Thanks for sharing!

Valentine Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
What a novice idea! These were actually very tasty. Not hard to make the hearts. But... you only need 1/4 of the cheese and mushroom mixture. And that is probably too much. And.... Samantha (Bewitched) couldn't make these in 10 minutes. Plan on closer to 30 minutes.

Egg Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
This deserves a big 5 for the ease and speed of making this sandwich! I, however, like to put mayo on my egg sandwiches and I found this to be a little dry for me. Other than that it was great! Cleanup was even a breeze! Will have to do this one again and again for sure!

Killer Bacon-Cheese Dogs

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Very good! I've never thought of putting BBQ sauce on my hot dog but it was really good! I didn't have Swiss so I had to sub with American.

Colorful Seafood Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
If you like this kind of salad you'll like this. I liked the crunch of the peas and celery in this. It was easy to put together. I don't like Splenda so I used a Tbsp of sugar, a teaspoon at a time, and taste testing as I added it. I also used a 12 oz bag of pasta instead of the 8 oz. Thanks for the post!

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
Indeed a hearty casserole and an easy to put one together also! Only changes I made were subbing dried parsley and using a cheddar cheese topping. We enjoyed it! And ~ Diane, this is HAM! It doesn't need salt. And, if you think it really needs it, don't you have a salt shaker!? It didn't deserve a 3 star from you.

Cheesy Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Excellent! My husband wanted a soup that would be filling. I figured this would be a good one. This was very easy and tasty! The only thing I changed was to use 1 can of cream of celery along with the cream of mushroom. I made no other changes. And, there's plenty! Also, it tastes better the next day! Thanks Sandra for the recipe! UPDATE: This, too, is seriously good when it's cold, straight out of the fridge!

Tuna Fish Pea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
I did enjoy this, but, I would think a can of peas to one can of tuna would be too much. I used about 1/2 C of frozen peas instead. It's a great way to add a veggie in. If I had added a tsp of black pepper I would never have been able to eat this. I am not a black pepper fan. I did put a few shakes in, though. I was almost leary of adding a whole teaspoon of garlic powder, but, I did add it. I really like garlic/garlic powder and use it quite a bit. I didn't really taste it all that much while I ate it but there was a bad aftertaste. I'll only add 1/2 tsp next time. I will make this again. P.S. I just noticed this recipe is for 6 people!?!? LOL! I ate the whole thing!

Muffin Morning Makers

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
Been making these for years. I always use the egg rings, makes it so much nicer, except for cleanup.. A hearty breakfast to start off the day when you have to get out and work around the house.

Rotisserie Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Excellent and comes out so moist and flavorful. Directions don't say to tie up legs and wings but you really must. I put a pan underneath to catch the fat that melts off which causes 'fire'. This chicken was a 4.20 pounder and was done in 1 1/2 hours. Sure will do this again!

Baked Flounder

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
Mmmmmmm. This was really tasty. I didn't have marjoram so I sprinkled some oregano on the fish. Other than that, everything was prepared as written. A lot different than just dotting with butter and paprika! LOL! Will sure do this one again! Thanks for the post!

Ziti Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
We really enjoyed this. I used all the same ingredients but doubled some of them like the ground beef and tomato sauce. I used a medium green pepper and a 15 oz container ricotta. Now we had some leftovers for the next evening. They reheated great in the nuker and tasted delicious! Thanks Dorothea! Will make again.

Crab and Pea Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
This was soooo good! And it's so easy and quick to put together. I didn't change a thing. When my hubby got home he found this bowl in the fridge and started to devour it! Well, it ruined his dinner but he sure did like this salad!

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
I'd give this a 10 if I could. My husband didn't believe I made this. It was soooo good! I only used 1/4 c sugar with raspberries. It was delicious. He was still talking about it this morning!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
This was really good! I did sub cannelini beans for the chili beans and I didn't add the green chile peppers. We aren't spicy hot people but more on the mild side. But, wow! This was good. I used a 5 qt oval crockpot for those who are interested and it came to within an inch of the top. Perfect! Served with shredded cheddar and some sour cream. Delicious and thanks Janeen!

Aunt Bev's Glorified Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This is a great sandwich. Very filling. I used whole grain white instead of the Italian, since I didn't have that on hand. Wow, filling!

Milk Braised Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
Delicious. A very tender, moist pork loin. Tying I did not do and had no problem with it. I asked Ken, in the exchange, if I had done the sauce right. He said it should have been cooked longer til it turned more brown. Albeit, it wasn't a nutty brown it was still very, very good. Thanks for the recipe Ken!

Not being a soup 'from scratch' maker (this is one of my first) this turned out very well. Hubby said it was delicious.
