Chewy Brownie Cookies

Loved these! I followed the recipe exactly for the first batch, but used butter instead of shortening. They came out flatter than I wanted, but were perfect for ice cream sandwiches. The second time I made these, I still used butter...then omitted the water and used baking powder instead of baking soda... they came out perfect!

Peppermint Brittle

It is so important to use a high quality chocolate for this to come out. "Nestle Chocolate" products do not work well with this recipe. Ghirardelli works best.. Bakers works well, though. After trial and error, I changed it up... dark on bottom, white on top. Mixed one teaspoon Organic Peppermint extract in dark after it melted. Topped dark with tiny pecan pieces and smaller chunks of candy canes. Strained the candy cane dust and mixed it in the white.. then topped the white with the larger chuncks of candy cane... rave reviews.

Beef Burgundy III

Great dish! I doubled the sauce portion (butter, soup, wine)and added a teaspoon of beef bullion. Prior to searing the meat, I sprinkled with steak seasoning. Very tasty, very tender, yet mushrooms remained firm enough to enjoy... Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Bratwurst Potato Skillet

Simple, quick & yummy! But I changed it up a bit because I was out of orange juice & green pepper. I doubled the recipe & put a dash each (to taste) of lime juice, balsamic vinegar & dijon mustard in the soy sauce. I pan fried potatoes fresh green beans & onion together at a med-high heat until golden crisp, while grilling the brats. Followed directions from there.

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Simple, quick, tasty, and versatile. I doubled the recipe with...used pre-cut stew meat, half butter, half olive oil and to thicken it up added a package of mushroom gravy mix. Served over noodles with crescents & garlic sauteed asparagas... the boys did rock, paper, scissors over last portion.
