BLT Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
I love this recipe. After eating at PI a very popular pizza place in STL I had to know how to make this salad. I have had it there several times and crave it. So I was very happy to find this recipe. First off I added banana peppers. Diced them up I just used some jared ones (they have them in the salad at PI), next I did add a half packet of Ranch Salad Dressing just to give it some flar if you do this you do not need the garlic. I also used baby tomatos and cut them in half. Of course use the REAL bacon it taste so much better! Other than that I stuck to the basics, iceburg lettuce does not work at all. Thanks for sharing this is a huge hit and I make it all the time!

Smothered Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
This is a great recipe that can be modified or it is wonderful as is! Sometimes I make it with out the lemom pepper seasoning and use a grill mix from my local spice shop. I have also used a bloody mary seasoning on it which is awesome of course if you do this leave out the brown sugar. You can also switch up the cheese, I like to use provel or harvarti sometimes yummy! It is on our dinner menu at least once a month! Thanks for sharing!

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
First of all I love Gouda so I thought how could you go wrong. Well you can't! These were amazing. Like all cooks I made just a few changes. First it was 20 degrees here so I was not going to grill. I cooked up the bacon, mixed with cheese and added green apples. They all go well together then I stuffed and yes then I fried them in the bacon grease. I also used the extra apples, gouda and bacon and added some milk and butter and made a sauce to top the chops with. AMAZING! I was trying to keep my dirty pans so that is why I friend in the bacon grease yeah not healthy but oh so yummy! I have posted this to facebook that is how good it is and I will be making this again! Of course next time I hope to use the grill. Just a little bit of work and you get an amazing dish! WONDERFUL I cannot say enough about this pair with some pots and peas and you are good to go!

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Wonderful!!! I have made this dish 3 times now and even the picky eater of the house loves it. I just some Polish Sausage since Andouille is a little hard to find around here. I skip the file powder and use olive oil since I always have it on hand. Instead of the white rice I use a Jambalaya mixture like the family size Zantarains family size mix. Two of the cans of tomatoes. Of course serve with some yummy cornbread! This dish also reheats very well and I think eve taste better then next day! Thanks so much for sharing this will be a favorite of ours forever!

Pirates' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I am a Pirate Freak so you know when I came across a dish with Pirate in the name I just had to try them. These things were AWESOME!!! I love to cook however I do not care for pork that much. My boyfriend loves pork chops so I always look for an interesting way to cook them and these came out great! The pork was not dry and there was a lot of flavor. Like any cook I cannot follow a recipe word for word and I always have to add a twist so here is what I did: I did not have the curry so I just used some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a dash of Soulard Grill seasoning. I only simmered for about 20 minutes and then added the pineapple and raisins and a pat of butter for about 10. I used golden raisins which were great however use whatever kind you like! Didn’t have golden syrup so I used some good maple syrup from Funk’s Grove. Good Stuff! I also used fresh ginger instead of powder because that is all that I had. I suggest adding the ginger to your tasting use less or more depending how much you love it. I also added a little more pineapple, I like fruit. I have also in the past added a dash of coconut rum, silver rum or some good old Captain Morgan. Just a splash will do but it does add some flavor! You could also add some sweet potatoes it is a great little twist with an awesome complimenting flavor. I would recommend this to anyone I know the combination of ingredients sounds strange but this is an awesome dish! Serve with some potatoes, a salad, rice and a v

Stuffed Chicken Valentino

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I love this recipe and every time I make it I get asked for a copy of it. There are just a few changes that I made. I use fresh red pepper, didn't have the others and I used Provel cheese instead of motz. I just like it better. I also sprinkle some parm cheese on top right before serving. This is a great dish and full of flavor! I have made it several times and it only gets better with practice! Trust me if you make this they will be wanting more!

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
This does take a little time to make however your guest will be asking for this recipe. I have made it several times and it is always a hit, be sure to watch your oven mine cooked a little slower than the recipe states. Also heats up pretty good if you are going to be taking them to work or some place like that. Can get a little greasy but other than that you will love them! Great hit for parties!

Marzetti® Buffalo Chicken Wrap Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
I love making these they are easy and very tasty! I just use regular slaw mix if I cannot find the Red, White and Blue. I also add a little bit of cheddar cheese to the final product and drizzel with Ranch or Blue Cheese depending on the person I am serving them too. On the chicken I add garlic, salt, pepper, and a little cajun season to give it a little bit more kick! Very messy and very good serve with a salad and you have a complete meal. The chicken is also awesome the next day be warned it will be a little bit spicer the next day! Great Recipe!

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2008
I had some chicken and was in search of something new and came upon this. It is great however I used none of the spices it called for I just used my favorites out of the spice rack. Cajun Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Onion Salt, White Pepper, Cumin, and some roasted garlic pepper. It was easy, the chicken was very moist and crunchy. Everyone loved it and it was so easy serve with a veggie and you have a full meal! Oh I also added a piece of cheese on top and let it melt what yummy goodness it was. I will be using this again the great thing is that you can pretty much add whatever spices you want to the dish and the chicken will turn out great. I did cut the butter down to ¼ cup and it worked just fine I also used chicken breast which were great! Thanks!

Baby BLT

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
Oh my gosh these are just the best! I have made them 2 times now and each time people just go on about how great these things are. My boyfriend HATES tomatos, won't even do tomato sauce but he just loves these! I used a baby spoon to take out the insides of the tomatos. I also just took a freezer bag and cut the corner off and used that to stuff the "sauce" into the tomato. I added just little garlic powder, salt and pepper to the mix and it was just great. I also have learned to place the tomatos on the tray or in the dish first before stuffing them, they hold each other up and make it easier to stuff. I also recommend that they spend some time in your fridge I let mine sit a few hours and that helps them firm up a little. Trust me you will really enjoy these and they really do not take that much time.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
I lived in San Diego too and Fish Tacos are one of my favorite. I took my boyfriend on vacation there and got him hooked to. THis is the BEST FISH TACO RECIPE that I can find! Taste just like the ones I used to get from the little taco stand. YOu will love these, if you do not have time to batter the fish you can use frozen pre-battered fish. I like Gordans x-tra crispy. You must use a white fish to get the right taste, the sauce is what makes the taco and this one is the BEST ON THE WEB!!!!!!
