Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2015
I love this soup. It is so easy and has such a great flavor. I tripled it recently for a Soup Supper at church and used two packs of mild and one pack of hot Italian sausage and it was just right. I took enough to fill my large crock pot to the church and rest I kept at home and it was a good thing! The crock pot was completely emptied before I served myself at church so I was happy for the extra I had left at the house!

Johnsonville® Smoked Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2014
I did this recipe pretty much as directed except did not have frozen green beans and used canned drained. I thought it was wonderful. Like another reviewer I did not think there was enough dressing but- I went ahead as directed and it was fine. I am trying to cut down on carbs anyway so did not want to add more. I really liked it, my son and husband also did. Surprisingly good flavor. A delight!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2014
I have been looking for a good recipe for clam chowder and this is it! It was very easy. I used russet potatoes and it turned out fine. I did not add any additional clam juice to cover the potatoes. I used water that I had let sit in the clam can until I needed it hoping it would pick up some of the flavor. I found that the longer it simmered to thicken the better the taste. I will try the extra clam juice but my family and I thought it was really good as is.

Turkey Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
I took the advice from some others and made more sauce, adding some parmesan cheese and a chicken bouillon. I thought it was wonderful and not too much work. Will cook about 5 less noodles next time.

Tex-Mex Patty Melts

I got a thumbs up from the whole family on this one and that is saying something!! Very easy too so that is a plus from me. I did grill instead of fry them and they turned out great this way too!

African Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
I tried this last night and thought it was wonderful. I did add some carrot, celery and used a can of chicken stock instead of water. My whole house smelled great and I ate way too much - it was that good!

Bacon-Balsamic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
I tried this for my Independence Day cook out and I have to say they were so good, I don't think I can go back to my standard deviled eggs ever again.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
Yum! I made two slightly smaller loaves so I had enough left over for a few muffins - they were good too and only took about 20 minutes to cook. I did use the shortening (butter flavored) and it turned out fine!

Harvest Rice Dish

I made this with only one onion and it turned out great! I made it both for Thanksgiving and then again for a company Christmas party that is a pot luck. I was very pleased and will be making this again.

Roasted Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
I used this recipe at my sister's 4th of July cookout for about 25 people so I bought 30 ears of corn. I used a roaster to cook some and we put several on the grill as well. I did not use horseradish in the sauce and also I used about 1 1/2 Tablespoons of the mustard per recipe ( I made about 5 times as much) but the sauce turned out excellant, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. This is a keeper!

Sea Bass Cuban Style

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
I used cod because we live in small town AZ and can't get sea bass. My husband who is highly critical of my cooking actually had high praises for this one - said he felt it was something he could only get in a fine restaurant. I thought is was quite good too.

Anise Almond Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2006
I tried this recipe and frankly it was a sticky mess until I added more flour. I am at a high altitude so maybe that was part of it and I think I may have added a little too much flour (about a cup more). I am going to try it once more because what I ended up with had a nice flavor-just not the right texture. Maybe adding just 1/2 cup more flour next time.
