Spaghetti Tacos

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
I made these for my kids as well. The star rating will vary based on the type of spaghetti sauce you use. Not something I want often, but it made my kids smile and that's what it's all about!

Easy Mini Quiches

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
I baked these just as instructed, but I also have to say they are nothing like a quiche. They were okay, but were too much on the dry side for me. Will not be making these again.

Cheesy Potatoes II

This was so good! My grandma used to make something similar. After supper was over, I went and got a bowl for a snack! Good work.

Colossal Caramel Apple Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
What a wonderful fall dessert! The only change I made was to cut the recipe in half. As per other reviewers, this recipe as is makes a HUGE amount. I don't know how anyone could get it to fit into a trifle bowl. With the recipe cut in half I filled the trifle bowl and another bowl as well. Delicious!

Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
This pie was so good! We loved the rich silky texture of the filling. Just remember that slow and steady wins the race with the filling. Don't try and rush the process or you will have lumpy filling. Thanks for sharing, Glenda!

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
These just came out of the oven and are fabulous. I made them into little mini two bite loaves. Didn't add the cherries and used splenda instead of sugar and they came out great!

This was EXACTLY my granny's three bean salad recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it. I took a big bite and instantly was about 8 years old sitting at her dining room table.

My grandmother used to make this all the time. I can feel the way my jaws would clench at the creamy sweet tartness of this beautiful pie. Thanks for posting!

Angel's Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
This is one of my favorite quick and easy TNT recipes. I started making it one day when there was "nothing good to eat" and everyone loved it. I also add in sauteed onions and change out parmesean cheese for the mozzarella. Yummo!

Dutch Almond Boterkoek

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
I went in search of a cookie recipe for my son's project fair when he needed one from the Netherlands. Ran across this one and tried it and WOW what a hit! All the kids and parents were gathered around his project display and munching away. Everyone loved them. Hubby said the only thing he would like different is to drizzle warm honey on the top so next time I make them I might do that for him. Excellent job, thanks for sharing! Edited on July 1st...My son, who is on a European adventure with People to People, called me last night from Switzerland! They will be home on Wednesday. All of his friends that ate these cookies at the above mentioned project fair were asking him to call home and have me make some for them to have as soon as they got back. Now how is that for rave reviews! Didn't call to say hello, but called for THIS cookie!

Coconut Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
Made 4 of these for a bake sale, they sold like hotcakes! I was hoping we'd have one left over for us. Had to make another for the house and I was thrilled when it was delicious. I also increased the coconut to 1 1/4 cups but everything else was the same. Kudos!

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
Ah good ole SOS. I remember having this as a kid. A few days ago I was trying to figure out what to do with a package of hamburger so I came here and did a search and ran across this recipe. I hadn't thought about SOS in DECADES. Made it for supper and 4/5 recommended having it again. Guess that's a good sign. The other one is a fussy eater and said...mom you don't put "whatchamacallit" sauce in GRAVY. Never should have let him see the bottle on the counter. Oh the joys of mothering a teenage picky eater!

Aunt Fannie's Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
We make this every thursday night (Survivor and Big Brother night) in our house, but it's called mexican goulash! We make it exactly the same except the tomatoes are rotel tomatoes (with the diced jalapenos) and to the meat we add cumin, chili powder and ground red pepper. Also, instead of elbows, I usually use rotini because the kids like the shape and the cheese clings to it better.

Easy Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
I have to go middle of the road on this one. I did have to add much more seasoning than is called for as we are a family that craves spice. I normally make the drop dumplings like in the recipe, but this time I followed other reviewers' suggestions and took the time to roll out the dough. It got mixed reviews from the family. The oldest, who is usually the most picky, liked it "a little more" than my usual fluffy dumplings. The middle child, who will eat ANYTHING, didn't even make it half way through the bowl and asked for a PB&J instead. The youngest shrugged and said "they're okay". Hubby liked them better than my regular drop dumplings so I guess it will be a trade off for dumplings in our house. I'll just say to the family...STOP!...DROP OR ROLL????
