Lemon Salmon Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
A nice place to start, and a great way to use some freezer-burned salmon. It was okay as written (and that's how I rated it), but really came into its own when I made it with broth instead of water, and added some leeks, garlic, and carrots! Then we topped each bowl with a squirt of lemon juice. Yum! Thanks for the idea of the lemon.

Rhubarb Relish

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
Yum!!! I was looking for rhubarb recipes that weren't desserts and thought this one looked interesting. It is fantastic. A delightful blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy. Great over cream cheese or brie and served with crackers.

Crackle Top Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
Fabulous!! We found they only needed about 10 minutes to bake. That was the only change. These are going in recipe box and will be made again. Thanks for sharing!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
Fabulous recipe! This is one of the easiest rolled doughs I have used. I was a little worried putting in in the fridge, because it seemed a bit sticky. A little flour on the hands when it came out (after chilling overnight) and it was not a problem at all. Thank you for the nice, simple recipe! And for the idea for icing with a pastry brush! Wonderful!

Dad's Candied Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
My husband and 20 month old loved this!! It was a bit too mustardy for my preference, but certainly nothing that would stop me from eating it nor making it again. Thanks for a unique, but easy and tasty salmon recipe!

Best Beet Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
This was really good! I used canola mayonnaise, which is what we use for mayonnaise normally. Yum!! Even my husband, who does not like beets at all (but will try anything I put in front of him) said that he probably won't eat much more of this batch, but he'd eat some again next time I make it. That's a HUGE compliment to this recipe. Thank you for sharing a beet recipe that does not use vinegar!

Cut-Out Cookies Made with Oat Flour

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
Made these with my nephew when he was 8. He was able to help with all the steps and we worked together to eat most of them up during his visit. (Although he did save a couple to take home to his mom.) :-)

Hot Breakfast Couscous

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
Upon making this recipe as written, the couscous was still crunchy. It became much better after adding more than double the amount of liquid called for. (No, I was not looking for an oatmeal-like consistency. It was crunchy. I like couscous and I know it isn't supposed to be crunchy!! I bought it in the bulk aisle of the natural section.) Anyway, after adding the extra liquid, the recipe was quite good.

Dianne's Crab

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
Yum!! Quick and easy! Next time I think I will toss the crab with the pasta before adding the cheese. It clumped up a bit. Obviously, not enough that we didn't enjoy it!

Yum! My DH is on a mostly raw diet and this was a perfect salad for both of us to share - and to take to potlucks to be sure he has something to eat. Great flavors, textures and colors!

Cranberry Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
Yum! I doubled the spices as suggested by other reviewers, and only had fresh (thawed) cranberries. YUM! Awesome hot, or toasted with a bit of agave nector drizzled on.
