Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I really enjoyed this dish, even though it's not super spicy full of unusual flavors. It's just a nice, simple, comforting potato dish, and I'll never make au gratin from the box again!

Raspberry Pain au Chocolat (Raspberry Chocolate Croissants)

really good. I dropped the raspberries and just used hazelnut spread instead after the first two batches. Always a crowd-pleaser!

Cioppino

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
This is really fantastic soup. You can mix and match the seafoods too based on what's available and what's cheap! I end up using flash-frozen shrimp most of the time because it tastes great when it's thawed into the soup and all of the juices from the shrimp melt into the soup. My mom is allergic to shellfish, so we make a version just for her with only fish. The base is the same, just with different seafood added at the end. Very versatile and always a crowd-pleaser!

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
d*** good salmon. I followed the advice of some others who do it in foil packets in the oven (I'm in Australia and it's winter here so no grilling outdoors!) and it was superb. I did use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. Additionally, instead of using lemon pepper I used juice of half a lemon in the marinade -- in the future I'll probably use lemon zest as well -- and then we added the juice from the other half at the table. Just so good!

The World's Best Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
Some people asked about poking holes in the bag. I have never done it this way; it seems to me that a lot of the steaming/poaching would be lost and thus, moisture as well. It looks in the oven like the bag is going to explode; it puffs up enormously! But it's never exploded in our kitchen and the turkey comes out moist and tasty :) HTH
