Sweet and Sour Pork III

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was so good I was even surprised it came from my kitchen. I used pork chops since it's what I had in my freezer. I didn't have green onions so I added a tiny bit of diced white for the marinade. I also stir fried the veggies seperate from the sauce with a dash of lemon pepper and they were nice and crisp! However, it also left us with quite a bit of sauce. We served the pork and veggies over ramen noodle since I can't find the rice noodles I like here. It is a ton of little steps but you won't regret taking the time to make this recipe.

I scaled down the recipe and added bacon. Delicious! Definately a keeper!

Shrimp free Jambalaya Pot Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
Very good! Lot's of little steps but this will be my go to dinner party dish. We have a shellfish allergy so I omitted the shrimp and increased the sausage. Used can chicken since I had it on hand. Also decreased the seasoning by half and it was still flavorful with a big kick.

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
I gave it 4 stars because even after baking for close to 2 hours and a trip to the broiler it still came out soggy. However, everyone requested it again so next time I'll just try a little thicker bread. I used bread that was medium dense from a local bakery and I think that was my problem. Very yummy!

Caramel Pecan Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
These are so yummy. My new favorite cookie! Super easy to make and would be great to do if you had a little one who likes to help bake! I used Caramel Hershey's Kisses and they turned out very moist and gooey in the middle. The hardest part was making sure my hubby didn't eat them all before they got to their intended destination.

Swiss Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I love this recipe and so does my hubby. I use canned chicken and make my own crumb topping with soda crackers, italian seasoning and butter. Like others said it's also very good with provolone. Since I'm using chicken pieces instead of breast, I just smother it in cheese since that is what we like. Very good and easy!

Magic Cookie Bars I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Just made this tonight and my husband has half the tray gone. I used crushed Vanilla Wafers since I didn't have graham crackers and the flavor was the same. I also used an 9x11 pan and they came out a bit dense but still very delicious. Great easy recipe!

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2006
Both my husband and roomie love this recipe. I now make it every Sunday. I also use a bundt pand and use the cinnamon/sugar to flour the pan. Also, I've been out of baking soda and used only baking powder and it still turned out great!
