Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
My hubby and I LOVED this chili! It's so simple, and so good! I only used one pound of lean ground beef, added a green bell pepper and used a bit more tomato sauce. Delicious with Hot Pace Picante and McCormick Chili Seasoning!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
My husband (who is a huge fan of the Hamburger Helper beef stroganoff) absolutely raved about this! I think I've converted him for good! I followed the advice of MomSavedByGrace and thanks to the changes - this was an excellent dinner that we'll be making for years to come!

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2010
Not only was this a super healthy meal, but they were outstanding! I followed the advice of Michelle K. and used Ragu Garden Vegetable sauce instead of the tomatoes and paste. I used 1 tsp of Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and plenty of salt and pepper when cooking the meat, which gave it perfect flavor. This will be a usual in our dinner rotation from now on! :)

Such a nice change from traditional steamed veggies! My husband and I really loved this and I'll definitely be making it regularly!! :) Thanks for a great recipe!

Black Forest Cheesecakes

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
Based on the taste of the batter, I was expecting these to be amazing....they were really good, but I wasn't 100% impressed. I like the change to chocolate from the regular plain mini-cheesecakes, but I still think I'll keep making those more often.

Raspberry Almond Coffeecake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
My first attempt at coffeecake and it was SO good! I was really worried because the batter was extremely thick and I was using a 9 inch springform pan instead of 8 inch...but wow! It looked beautiful and tasted even better. Since I used a bigger pan I cut back on the baking time and only baked it for about 15-20 mins. Pretty & perfect...can't wait to make it again!

Blueberry Lemon Loaf

Yum! I made thiese into muffins and they were excellent! Didn't have sour cream, so I just used some milk with a bit of lemon juice in it and it worked out just fine!

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I absolutely LOVED this beef! My husband (who is NOT a pepper eater and was skeptical of the pepperoncinis) was completely blown away by how good it is! I put it on hoagies with jack cheese and broiled for a few minutes for a toasty, gooey, delicious sandwich! Will make again and again!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
These are really yummy and a fun little sweet treat! I didn't dunk them completely in the melted butter, rather, I just brushed it on and then rolled them in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. They turned out to be a great fix for my sweet tooth!

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
SO good! I don't usually make biscuits, but wanted something different at dinner so I gave these a try and they were great! I made a batch of plain ones (using reduced fat bisquick) and then used the advice of another reviewer and added 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp italian seasoning and 1/4 cup italian cheese blend for a fun twist -- both were awesome!

Zucchini in Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
I thought this was OUTSTANDING! My husband and I love zucchini, but were getting bored with the same old way of steaming it, so I thought I'd find something new. This blew us away! I didn't have dill weed on hand, so I just subbed some Mrs. Dash and also sprinkled in some garlic salt. It was delish!

Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
I thought these bars were excellent! They have a very cake-like texture, and I have a feeling that you could also turn them into muffins as well. I didn't use any icing on them, and they definitely satisfied my sweet tooth! I used a combo of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves instead of pumpkin pie spice. Yum-O!!

Muesli-Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
These muffins were GREAT! I used more applesauce than called for, and just a tiny bit of oil instead of the 1/3 cup. They came out moist and yummy! I'll definitely make these again!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
HEAVEN in a loaf pan! This bread is absolutely, positively AMAZING! I did sub 1/2 applesauce for the oil, added 1/2 tsp vanilla and based on personal preference for spices used: 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp cloves. The result? A perfectly moist, not overly sweet or spiced, OH SO YUMMY bread! It baked up beautifully in just over an hour, and not only did we get delicious pumpkin bread after that hour, our house smelled beautifully! I live in Australia where anything "pumpkin" (cakes, cookies, breads) is very rare and all of our friends who have tried this bread just LOVE it and ask for the recipe! This is most definitely a keeper!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
Let me start this review by saying this was my very first attempt at making Spaghetti Carbonara. My husband and I enjoyed this dish, but felt that there was just something missing. We had the absolute BEST pasta carbonara in Venice last summer, and we were trying to find something close to it....unfortunately, this wasn't it. I think we like the pasta and sauce to be more creamy than it turned out with this recipe. All in all, we liked it okay, but weren't WOWED by it.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
These muffins were seriously good - although they reminded me more of a cake because of their sweetness and texture. I didn't bother putting the streusel topping on since they were plenty sweet all on their own. I did feel that they were a bit greasy though. I think I'll still keep looking around for that perfect *muffin* recipe! This is a great one to use again though, maybe with less oil next time!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
I thought these were delicious cookies! The batter was even better though! :) They baked up beautifully and stayed soft and chewy! I added 1/2 tsp of salt as others recommended. I will gladly make these again and more than likely serve them with vanilla ice cream or a big glass of milk!

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Oh my GOODNESS! You MUST make these Lemon Bars because they really are the BEST! I will never make another lemon bar recipe - this is THE ONE! Thanks to MommyFromSeattle's review, I used just over 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice and an extra tbsp of flour. I baked these in an 8X12 pan and used about 2/3 of the dough for the crust, and then after they'd baked for a little while, I crumbled the other 1/3 of the crust on top. SOO good! I also added 1/2 tsp salt to the crust mixture and it was phenomenal!

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
My husband is a chocolate pie LOVER and so I usually cut corners and just use pudding mix and a ready-made graham cracker crust to whip up an easy dessert for him on the weekends. He always raves over it when I make it. This pie though - he couldn't get enough of! Since I can't get pudding mix or graham crackers in Australia, I decided to give this recipe a try - and WOWIE! It's soooo worth the extra work and not cutting corners! It was the perfect after Thanksgiving pie!
