Christmas in The Islands Bread

I made mini loaves for office exchange gifts. They were a hit. I didn't have dried cherries on hand, so I used craisins, dried cranberries.

Very different texture from the fluffy cakes most people are used to. Kind of a heavy coffee cake. It has a pleasant taste, though, and is very easy to make. It's also economical, using ingredients many people usually have on hand.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Great cookies. But 12-14 is too long--at least in my oven. My first batch started to burn at 10 mins.

Spiced Percolator Punch

Very good and very easy. I expected it to have more cranberry flavor, though. The cinnamon and cloves gives it more of an apple cider taste. I did use more cloves than called for, however. That may have overpowered the cranberry. Next time, I'll stick to the original recipe.

Raspberry-Lime Sherbet 'Watermelon'

Clever idea, but the sherbet melts so quickly that it becomes soupy before it can be served. The editor's tip about putting a warm towel on the bowl to help remove the sherbet only hastens the melting. Perhaps lining the bowl with plastic wrap would be a better idea. I would also suggest serving on chilled plates.
