A great cook with special needs (no wheat no dairy) marries a "I'd rather starve than cook" kind of girl. She's had her fill of Hamburger Helper and is trying to hone her skillz and learn a thing or two.
My favorite things to cook
REAL cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving, Veggie Pizza, Garlic and Thyme hashbrowns, a Finnish baked pancake that I don't know how to spell, Rice in my new awesome rice cooker (yay for wedding gifts!) and egg salad (it's not just eggs and mayonnaise anymore!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was great at those cream of something hotdishes (something we can't enjoy now with the no dairy rule). My dad made a fantastic stroganoff as well. In our new marriage, Kyle is great at personally spiced ground chicken for tacos, crepes and breakfast skillets with lots of vegetables and over easy eggs on top.
My cooking triumphs
Creating my own orange/ginger/walnut cranberry sauce recipe for Thanksgiving last year.
My cooking tragedies
The lack of cheese in our new household :( I have a hard time making fried eggs that aren't so, well, fried and for some reason, I can never remember how to hard boil them.
