I took this to a fall themed baby shower and a church event. I've never had so many people tell me how good something was. I think it would be great as written but I used 1/2 cp of brown sugar for 1/2 cp of the white and slightly changed the spices - 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg (no change there) and just 1/4 tsp of cloves because they can be overwhelming. The glaze was wonderful and gave a perfect finish. For those who had issues with this recipe - I fluff then measure flour, leveling the cup with a knife, beat the butter and sugar for a couple of minutes, then also beat the mixture for a couple of minutes after adding the egg, pumpkin and vanilla. This gave it a perfect texture. I flattened and smoothed the cookies before baking for a nicer looking final result.
