Pecan Pumpkin Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2006
This is the BEST! I love Starbucks pumpkin scones, but this is better. So light and fluffy. I used an orange glaze instead of butter. I used sweet potato instead of pumpkin and it was incredible, YUMMY!

Spicy Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
All I have to say is WOW!One quick tip: I microwaved my sweet potato until tender and then mashed with a fork to speed up the process. It was a quicker cook time, made the sweet potato easier to puree. SO FAB!!!

great recipe. Did not use PB cups as I live overseas and they are unavailable. Was great anyway, added pecans. Just a great standby.

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
My family liked this but I felt it needed more cocoa in the cake part of the recipe, double or more. We liked it though, good recipe! I served it with sweetened whipped cream with a chocolate liquer in it...mmmm...

Kolaches I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
This was OK. I was not as crazy about it as others have been. Followed recipe but felt the bread was too "bready", maybe not soft enough for kolaches. I frze some of them and they do freeze well.

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2007
I like the fact that this recipe used a cake mix and not a brownie mix. I live overseas and many people send me cake mixes but no brownie mix! I used sweetened condensed milk instead of melting caramels, and they were great!I added nuts before the caramel to keep them locked inside. I never go by a suggested time I always watch carefully with a new recipe, this one does take a bit longer than suggested. Thanks for the recipe! I am sharing it tonight with friends from Bulgaria!OK today I am changing to 5 stars, these set up and taste like fudge, everyone raved!

Rich Cheesecake Bars

I think this is just a little too sweet and just does not taste quite right, sorry, not my favorite. If you like cheesecake just stick to the real thing!

I live in Bulgaria and someone sent me a bag of butterscotch morsels! When I pulled the package out of the box I swear I could almost smell the "Oatmeal Scotchies". Thanks for the recipe...and the memories!

French Onion Soup VIII

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
I made this for dinner and was very impressed. We had it with crusty fresh bread on the side as well as in the soup, the swiss cheese was yummy! I always play around with recipes but this was a great base to start with! Many thanks!

Pie Crust III

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This is a great recipe for those who do not want to cut in shortening or butter. It is a hassle normally to make pie crust. I made mine with a berry filling, looks great, smells great, tastes great! I did add salt and sugar. Nice find - THANKS

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
Really good! I 1/2'd the recipe to see if we (my husband and I)liked it before making for friends. Baked it in a round cake pan and it turned out great. Dough was a bit stiff so I added maybe 2T of whipping cream to loosen the dough a bit. I think it also made it less crumbly... GREAT STUFF!Making it for a group of thirty later this week. Thanks!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
AWESOME ON BANANA CAKE!!! Thanks this is great! I do have to say that because I live in Bulgaria and the white sugar here is pretty coarse I substituted what they call powder sugar here, which is still much coarser then the stuff from states. Turned out to be the perfect texture!

German Baby

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
This was FANTASTIC! I have to admit that after readingthe reviews I did add the vanilla and a bit of powdered sugar to the batter. I melted the butter in a heavy duty nonstick cake pan and then added the batter and out into a hot oven. Rose beautifully! I liked it with lemon and powdered sugar and also homemade hot maple syrup. My husband liked it with just the syrup. Thanks!

No Eggplant Moussaka

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
This recipe is more along the lines of Bulgarian Moussaka. There are many countries with their own version, not just Greeks! Bulgarians use potatoes instead of eggplant. If you like the Greek seasoning try adding a touch of allspice to the white sauce. I also used parmesan instead of cheddar.MMM! Thanks for the recipe.

Carole's Sesame Chicken Salad

I LOVE this salad. I like mine with sliced almonds and mandarin orange slices. I also added some chopped celery and a green pepper. It is EXCELLENT!So colorful...I did thin down the dressing, used less mayo and a bit of salad oil and vinegar. GREAT!

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: May 31, 2007
This was OK. It took longer than I planned to bake. It was also too sweet for my taste. I made it for guests and was not OTT about it. I like the recipe for fabulous pecan coffee cake on this site, next time I would just add berries to that. Sorry, I wanted to LOVE it.
