About this Cook
I currently live in Poznan, Poland with my husband. We have lived all over the USA, including Texas, Seattle, Chicago. We like to travel and spent two years in Nairobi, Kenya, and a year in Varna Bulgaria. I love baking and easy gourmet cooking. I look for creative recipes that are full of flavor combinations but are not long and drawn out.
My favorite things to cook
I love Prime Rib, and Stuffed Pork Loin. I also love to bake and anything sweet has my full attention!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother taught me to cook. In our house Sunday dinners and holidays were a big deal. My first attempt at cooking on my own was a dinner for 25 fellow students who had nowhere to go for Thanksgiving. Must have been acceptable, my husband was there for my first attempt and continues to come to the table!
My cooking triumphs
I love to serve large sit down dinners. My husband and I have been priviledged to host these dinners around the world. No matter where we go hospitality is still a great way to make new friends.
My cooking tragedies
We lived in an apartment in Chicago when we were first married. The landlord did not like to turn on the heat and so our apt was never more than about 56 degrees in the winter. I tried to have friends for dinner but when I started taking food to the table it was cold before I could put it down. My sweet girlfriend finally said "It is so cold in here can we go somewhere else?" So we ditched dinner and went out for the evening.

Spicy Cranberry Pecan Cornbread Stuffing
If you find that this recipe is too dry then add more chicken stock. If you find that this recipe is too heavy then use one box of regular stuffing cubes instead of cornbread. It isn't rocket science people and a bit of common sense goes a long way!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust
This recipe will be my pie crust recipe forever! I use it to make turkey pot pie....so tasty, the perfect crust and very easy to roll out. I do the entire mix in the food processor, removing it after the water is added and it comes together! Love it!

Aebleskiver
Best way to eat these is to fill them with sausage crumbles and Havarti cheese then top with maple syrup... AMAZING! In Denmark they sell these in the shops in bags frozen for convenience, not bad...but nothing like those made at home.
