Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
Very tasty and easy small cake. I do use cake flour and I cut the sugar to 1 cup (I do that for a lot of recipes because I don't like things too sweet).

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I was somewhat skeptical but the bread turned out great! I used 1 egg plus 2 yolks instead of the 2 eggs. Texture and taste were excellent. I may have left the crust on Med and not light because it turned out quite light in color. THX!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
This meat is so good - tasty and tender and inexpensive if you find it on special. I make a lot of meat for my husband and this recipe can't be beat! I had no trouble with the meat being cold either, but I have a very good oven. Too bad I can't heat my kitchen to 500 degrees in the summer, but I'll make this whenever I can find it.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I have to say that this is an awesome recipe, but I did some weird things to it..first, do only half the recipe for the bread machine. Next, I had some raisin/fruitcake dried fruit marinating in brandy that I put in. I set it outside overnight, and the next morning got a bit lazy and did not roll the dough out but baked it in a free-form roll. Let it rise first for several hours, as it was cold. Came out perfect! Baked it at 375 for a bit longer than 20 minutes but stayed fresh enough for the 2-3 days it was around. This was a very interesting discovery. Turned out not to be cinnamon rolls exactly but very tasty, if you like this sort of thing. I also put cinnamon and cardamom in the dough. My husband is delighted, and I have to admit it is quite easy to do (if you are inclined to do this sort of thing at all) Thanks so much for the great recipe!

Orange Pumpkin Loaf

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This is really very good. Not too sweet and not too orangey at all. Very moist as well. I did the orange in the food processor and it worked great. The only other thing I did differently was to use 1 cup whole wheat flour for 1 cup of white flour. And Craisins, just because I had them. Very very tasty!

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2007
These are really good. I had round spring roll wrappers, but they were fine. I doubled the oyster sauce, etc (as recommended by some) and also added some sambal (Thai chili paste) for heat. OH! The most important- I added Chinese 5 spice powder when browning the pork! I skipped the cilantro only because I didn't have any, otherwise I would put it in. Used cole slaw mix but added extra carrot. Truly wonderful!

Southern as You Can Get Collard Greens

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2006
This recipe is awesome! Use the ham hocks, and even add smoked sausage/kielbasa toward the end of the cooking time. These are wonderful!
