Pear Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2014
Made a couple of recommended changes. Used applesauce in place of 1/2 of the oil and used Canola oil and used 3/4 cup light brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar. Very moist! One loaf was gone before dinner! So good when warm.

Very easy! Turned out really good. Next time I will add a little more chili powder. Had a little leftover, tasted even better the next day.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This bread is wonderful!!! Made exactly as written. I used 2 8X4 loaf pans and had to extend the cooking time about 25mins. This will be my go-to pumpkin bread recipe. I have a feeling I will be making several loaves this holiday season.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
Very good! I used a melon ball scooper instead of a spoon. This worked great. I used sprinkles instead of the cherries. Great warm right out of the oven. My 8yr old ate 2 right away. 12/7 - I am editing this after reading some of the more recent reviews. You must beat this batter for at least 10 min. non-stop. It will be creamy and fluffy. It's best to use a stand mixture. Use the paddle attachment and a speed of 5-6. I don't like a real sweet cookie so these were perfect. My sons have eaten all most all of them. I will need to make more tonight.

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I had made too many sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving and wanted to try something other than sweet potato pie. This is a great alternative. I just pulled it out of the oven and tasted it warm. It is so good! I think I'll make another one.

This turned out great! I added about a tablespoon of A1 and a couple of tablespoons of red wine. This recipe is a keeper.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I made this last night and had everything on hand. This is the best banana recipe I have made. I had to leave out the nuts because my youngest has an allergy but it was still great, especially warm.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Sounds good to me! Anything that can make my life easier is worth a try. I don't worry about calories much. This is an easy recipe to lighten up. My kids aren't big potato eaters so I will probably make it without this hash browns.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Perfect way to use a package of turkey. These were quick and good. I only had plain breadcrumbs so I used a couple of teaspoons of italian seasoning and I added some grated cheese. Will definately make again!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
I tried this out on company and it was a big hit. I didn't have some of the spices so I used what I had: garlic powder, kosher salt, Mrs. Dash. This will definately go into my favorites cookbook.
