Almond Poppy Tea Cookies

Deep Dish Brownies

I followed the original recipe exactly and I think the taste and texture came out just about perfect. Mine did fall during baking, but the brownie I got out of the pan was very cake like, and yet still somewhat chewy in the middle. A perfect compromise for those who like the "cake" brownie, and the spouse who likes the "chewy" brownie.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

This is the only stuffed pepper recipe I've ever liked. My son and husband like it as well and we don't even use cheese, since my son doesn't like cheese. Thank you so much for sharing this Suzanne. I have a very hard time finding recipes all 3 of us will enjoy. The only thing I changed was I used pre-cooked brown rice, so I didn't add water when I added the rice and I did not add cheese. This will be one of my well-loved recipes from now on!

Baked Brussels Sprouts

Stained Glass Cookies

It's a great recipe for rolled gingerbread cookies! As cute as the stained glass cookies came out, I didn't care for them. The candy is sort of hard, sort of chewy and very contrasty to the cookie dough. I also didn't like the strong molasses flavor of the cookies with the hard candy flavor. I did use sweet candies however, and the author's suggestion to use sour candies is probably intentional.

Pinto Bean Chili

I wanted some chili to put on top of fritos for frito pie, but that was not too hot for my 3 year old and tasty enough to be tempting. I don't really like pinto beans, but this mixture was really good. I just used several shakes of chili powder rather than the measured amount so it wouldn't be too hot. I also didn't add the vinegar as my husband has an uncanny way of smelling it when I use it. Also, I'd cooked the pinto beans before hand, so just added them to the mixture of beef with the tomatoes and let them all cook together. All of us loved this recipe! Thanks Sandy

Baked Salmon II

This was a really good recipe. The only thing different I did was leave out the parsley and add just a little dried dill. I'm use to making baked salmon with dill/lemon juice/onion/butter. I was so surprised at the flavor using the basil. It was really good, and didn't smell or taste like fish. I think this is going to be my new standard salmon recipe! Thank You for posting it.

Cornbread Muffins I

Wow! A recipe that my whole family likes and I even used some whole wheat flour. Very impressive. I used 1 cup whole wheat, 1/2 cup white, regular cornmeal, and then increased the milk to 3/4 cup to compensate for the whole wheat. This will be my only recipe for cornbread muffins from now on! We all love the corn kernels and I also used a can of drained corn rather than frozen - thanks for the tip.
