Very easy, very good frosting. Stays soft and has a good mild flavor. Went great with the "Sugar Cookie Cutouts" on here.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
First time trying these and I thought they turned out great! I liked that the butter is melted, easier to make them on a whim instead of remembering to get butter out to soften. I only had salted butter so I didn't use as much salt, I didn't notice any problem with that. They tasted great! At first, the dough is very runny, and I was a bit concerned, and contemplated more flour. I'm glad I waited; within a minute or two it stiffened up and was easy to scoop. Great cookies!

Split Pea and Ham Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2010
Maybe I was wrong to put this in the crock pot, but mine turned out very bland. Not cohesive like my mom's, either. I cooked the ham bone over night, then added the other ingredients to simmer all day. I then pureed everything in the blender and added it to a stock pot to simmer for another hour. The peas were still a bit hard and so were the carrots. Next time I think I'll try a recipe that is made for a crock pot

Chocolate Peanut Butter Wacky Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. The Amish make a cake very similar to this and its impossible to find a peanut butter ICING. All you can find is frosting, which I didn't want. A few things I would do differently next time. I would cook the icing in a saucepan instead of putting it under the broiler, and then pour it on the cake. The recipe doesn't say the broiler level (hi/lo) nor does it say for how long. So I put it on lo and checked it every minute. Well, it burned a little on top. I had to scrape the burnt part off. I also think I'll add more peanut butter to the recipe because the brown sugar overpowered the taste a little. Plus I think it needed more icing overall. But this will be my go-to recipe for this cake. I had been searching for it forever and my husband loves it!

Easiest Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I used a 2 lb roast, because that's all they had. I put in 1 can of beef broth, and about 1/2-1 cup of water, along with the au jus mix. Cooked for 7 hrs on low, and it was ready by the time I got home. My only issue is that it does fall apart, so it will make it hard to slice it for sandwiches. But it might not even make it to buns because its so good! I'm going to saute some onion for the au jus and for the sandwiches.

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
I made these using a yellow cake mix and in half of them I added chocolate chips. These were so gross. They were almost sickingly sweet. It had a weird artificial taste. I will say, however, that if you usea devils food mix, they are great. I've made them with mint chips and regular chocolate chips. Those turn out great. But the yellow ones we threw out.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2008
Very easy to make and a big hit! I've made this twice and I can't say anything negative about it. Made it according to the directions and it turned out fantastic! Definately more of a chili than a soup, but I like that better- its heartier and definately enough to be a meal.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2008
Very easy and tasted great! I slow cooked the pork on low for about 5 hours, drained and shredded it, and then put it back in the slow cooker, and added Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory BBQ sauce, turned the cooker down to "keep warm" until dinner (about an hour) I've never done this before, and had no idea how to "pull" pork, so I read some things online and took two forks and just ripped the meat - by the time it came for pulling, the meat was so loose and tender - it was very easy. Great recipe, thanks!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
These cookies are so easy and taste great! I used peanut butter chips - yum - and mint chips another time - yum! I added some vanilla extract to them. Don't be alarmed when the batter is super sticky and thick. That's just how it is and it will make a great cookie!

Yum! I omitted the cinnamon, nutmeg and cherries. I also reduced the coconut to about 2 cups.
