Bacon Chicken II

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
I used Kraft original flavor bar b q rather than honey. I also sprinkled some pepper on the chicken, and some onion flakes on the whole thing. YUM! I can't wait to have the left overs for lunch tomorrow!!

Scalloped Potatoes and Hamburger

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
This did not turn out good (to me) at all, but I think that I probably was the cause of that. My boyfriend loved it. The potatoes didn't cook all the way through, and we guessed it was because I left the skins on (was in a rush, figured that they are healthy, so left them on). I also added probably too much pepper. Next time, I will add cheese, and maybe use two cans of soup.

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
Really really good, and easy. I cooked the chicken in one cup of broth (that's all I had!) and two cups water, with celery and potatoes. I added onion flakes and some garlic to the water, and a bit of pepper. I used cream of chicken and cream of celery, and added some lima beans to the mix when I put the chicken back in, just to try to get some more veggies in there. It was delish!!

Sloppy Junk

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
Wow this was heavy, although I should have guessed as much. We ate it over rice, and it was too much, but I think as a sandwich it would have been easier. It was good! And the recipe is a good basis to play around with. Next time, I will use ground turkey to lighten it up a bit.

Chocolate Fondue L'Afrique

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
This was good with strawberries and marshmallows. Next time I will try the recipe with milk chocolate chips.

Picante Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This was really really good. After reading reviews that it was a little thing, I used a combination of water and actual picante sauce, instead of just water. Next time I will put some beans in the mix.

Succulent Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
My boyfriend and I thought this was really great. I used less brown sugar, about 1.5 cups. Very very tasty!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
I don't know about the sauce--I used a jar I had in the pantry--but the meatballs were WONDERFUL.

Three Pan Potato Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This was very tasty. I tried to follow the recipe to a T, but the potatoes weren't cooking and the chicken was buring, so that was annoying. I didn't really feel like the potatoes added anything special, so next time I make I will add some more beans. I also put enchilada sauce on the enchiladas before baking, because what is an enchilada without the sauce? Yum yum yum!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
I must have done something wrong...the potatoes were still hard like they hadn't been cooked and it was just bland. We picked the smoked sausage out and just ate that. I was so excited for this recipe to be good, too.

Nikki's Steak Saltimbocca

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
OMG, yum! I used the suggestion of adding basil, oregano, and garlic powder to the inside of the meat. I also used havarti, just because I really like havarti. Wow, this was good. And I did cook it for about 20 minutes. Definitely going in the rotation.

Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This was really really good, I loved the broth. I added kidney beans (which didn't do much for the flavor), and smoked sausage (which was good). I think next time I'll put some cut up squash or zucchini and maybe mini meatballs.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2008
This was really good, and I'm not a chili fan ordinarily. I did everything by the recipe, except I added some chopped "hot pepper" (my grocery store did not have them labeled clearly), and my boyfriend put in an indeterminate amount of Texas Pete. It was yum!

Easy Cajun Jambalaya

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
This was good, but I still thought it was pretty hot and spicey. Considering that it was supposed to be a mild jambalaya, the real deal must be smokin'! It was very easy and quick.

Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
This is how I have made pot roast for years, except I use beef broth instead of water, and I do occasionally add beef gravy to the mix. So good! And then, use the leftovers for soup--even better!!

Hoppin' John

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
This was good, better than I thought. I added rotel, as per a review, and some smoked sausage, in addition to the hocks. I only kept some of the hock meat. I also added some garlic and some texas pete's. Will make again!!

Sausage and Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
YUM! I love breakfast food. I loved how the egg soaked into the bread, making the casserole light and fluffy. I got the wrong sausage--links instead of bulk--so I just cut the links into thirds, it still was good. We enjoyed it on christmas morning.

South of the Border Chicken Tortilla Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This was soooooo good! I had to make some changes because I didn't have all the stuff. So: ground turkey instead of chicken, half can cream of mushroom plus half can cheddar cheese soup instead of sour cream, salsa instead of tomatoes. And then I didn't have black beans so I spread some refried beans on the top before adding the cheese. Also, on the advice of the other review, I skipped the cinnamon. I noticed that I also forgot the salt and pepper after it was done, but I don't think that hurt it. This was really good, really a lot of food!

Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This was really good. Light but still flavorful. Made a few changes: used some basil flavored olive oil; added a chicken breast; and, cooked sausage and chicken with onion, garlic, oil, and pepper. Was really good!
