Corn Chowder with Sausage
We loved this chowder. I did not have a problem with it being too thin, quite the opposite but that might be that I probably had 7 cups of potatoes and added 2 chopped carrots for color and added nutrition. I used turkey sausage instead of the pork sausage and left out the marjoram because I didn't have any. Once the potatoes were cooked, it was just a matter of throwing everything else in and dinner was finished.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup
Loved this nice hearty soup for a cold VT evening. Made slight changes based on personal likes and dislikes. Threw it all in the crockpot and cooked the barley right before serving and added that to the finished soup. Didn't put in the frozen vegetables but did add a can of mushrooms at the end. Also added about 1T of minced garlic and probably about 1T of italian seasoning. Will make this again for sure.

Marshmallow Fondant
This was my first time using fondant. Like others, I used my Kitchen Aid mixer to mix everything. The next morning when I was ready to roll it out, I was about ready to throw it in the garbage and scream because it was sticking to everything..wax paper, countertop, rolling pin....once I started using more powdered sugar (and got rid of the waxed paper) everything worked out great. I was really happy with my overall experience, once I realized to keep using the powdered sugar and I got rave reviews from everybody.
