About this Cook
I have been married for 19 years and even though I have one child, I really only cook for 2 because he is a very picky eater and limits himself to certain foods. I work part time and love to read/buy cookbooks.
My favorite things to cook
I prefer one-dish meals with maybe one or two sides. (Thanksgiving dinner would throw me!) Lasagna, Pastichio, soups, stews, etc. Casseroles are my favorites.
My cooking triumphs
Every meal I put on the table is a personal triumph because I'm always amazed how good it came out!
My cooking tragedies
Once when roasting a stuffed chicken for my entire family, I cooked the neck and forgot to remove it from the rest of the gizzards before chopping it all up and added it to the stuffing. My sister wondered what was in the stuffing that was so crunchy and I went white with fear because I just remembered what I did! We've all had a lot of fun with that over the years.

True Manhattan
I admit the ratio is the same but I have been making Manhattans with a jigger (1 1/2 oz) of whiskey, 3/4 oz. of sweet vermouth and a glass filled with ice. Naturally, cherries!! LOVE this drink -- it's my signature!

Sweet and Spicy Green Beans
Made this for our Labor Day picnic & everyone really loved it. I usually read through a recipe a few times before I make it but for some reason this time I thought I knew what needed to be done. Well, I did it incorrectly but it still came out great. I steamed the fresh green beans and then made a mixture of everything else and tossed it. It really came out very good that way -- for something a little different or quicker. Next time I'll try it the "right" way!

Lamb Feta Peppers
This recipe was wonderful. I loved the flavors. The sauce was more cooking liquid, though, not "smothered in sauce". But I feel the peppers could stand alone without any kind of sauce, that's how much I enjoyed them.
