Italian Peas

Liked this recipe, but even with cutting back to 1/2 onion it was still overpowering to the dish. Even so, I will make this again - I'll just use 1/4 of an onion.

Family loved this recipe! Used pancetta instead of bacon and only used 1/2 an onion, otherwise followed the recipe. Delicious!!

Tilapia with Creamy Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
Delicious! I made some of the previously suggested changes, and my whole family really enjoyed the dish. I cut way back on the lemon in the cream sauce, and also only put the cream cheese mixture in the micro on 50% power for 20 seconds.

Amazing Spicy Grilled Shrimp

So fantastic!!! Will make this again and again! I was out of sesame oil, so I just skipped it, but didn't increase the olive oil. We didn't miss it. Loved this marinade so much, that we're going to try it on chicken skewers too. Thanks for the recipe!

Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
I found that I over did it on adding more flour to bring it to more of a dough stage, but even so my family all really enjoyed it. I made a garlic, mushroom, butter sauce that really went well with this gnocchi. I will definitely be making it again, but will be more careful about not adding too much flour.

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Made these using previous reviewers suggestions - Vanilla wafer cookies dipped in melted andes baking chips. Turned out sooooo good! Also dipped a few ritz crackers and did a taste test with the kids and hubby. Consensus is that while both taste good, the one made with a vanilla wafer holds up better, i.e. doesn't crumble as easily. Thanks for an easy and tasty recipe.

YUMMY!! I didn't have any tomato sauce or canned tomatoes in my pantry tonight, so I subbed in a jar of spaghetti sauce and crossed my fingers! Success! The family loved it! Will definitely make again, but will use the recipe ingredients next time. ; )

REALLY Good! Followed recipe with one exception - didn't have any packaged alfredo - made my own. Thanks for the recipe.

Honey Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
I too changed this a bit, but we enjoyed the end result. I took the advice of some other reviewers and cut the amount of red pepper flakes in half, and also used 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil. I also substituted green onion for the yellow onion, and added in a 1/4 cup of 1/2 and 1/2 since I didn't have any coconut milk. I served this with garlic noodles. The whole family enjoyed the dish and thought it had just the right amount of kick to it. Thanks for the base recipe.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

These were a nice change from the standard deviled egg recipe and were very well received. I took the advice of another reviewer and also added some sour cream. Also used a piping bag for neater presentation. Thanks for the recipe.

Another Rave review! Didn't have cloves, and used brown sugar instead of corn syrup as many recommended - but we were very pleased with the end result.

Garlic Pork Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Followed the recipe exactly as written, and the end result was a little bland for our tastes. Hubby ate it after dousing it with pepper, but after one bite, the kids wouldn't touch it. Still searching for a good, basic, crock pot pork roast.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
YUM! I followed the recipe, with the exception of using fat free half and half in place of the milk. This is a fabulous soup recipe - everyone in the family gobbled it up! I'll be trying variations now using this recipe as a base, as I see others have with great success.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Very tasty - although I did change the recipe a tad. I used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 all purpose flour. I also added 1 tsp of vanilla, as was recommended by other reviewers. Also, thanks to the reviewer who recommended just putting a few mini chips on top of the pancake after pouring it onto the griddle, as opposed to mixing the mini chips into the batter. This was a great idea for ensuring even distribution.

Lighter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Kiddos loved these so much, they were picking off the bits that stuck to the muffin wrapper! : ) I followed most of the recommended changes: used 1/2 all purpose flour and 1/2 whole wheat flour, decreased sugar to 1/2 a cup (and used brown sugar instead of white), used four bananas, added in a 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce, added 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe and suggested changes.

Chicken Provolone

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Definite comfort food! Not great for the waistline, but very tasty. I made many of the suggested changes: cut recipe in 1/2, used about 1/4 cup of chardonay and 1/3 cup of low fat milk, pre-seasoned the chicken breasts with garlic pepper and sea salt, and made the stuffing before adding it to the top of the chicken. Very yummy. DH and son practically licked their plates clean. : )

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
Excellent! Every member of the family devoured the salmon. I followed other reviewers advice, and cut back dill to 1/4 tsp, mixed it in to the melted butter, along with the crushed garlic, sea salt and pepper, before pouring over the salmon, which I wrapped in foil. This will go in the regular rotation for sure. : )
