Me and my husband about 3 years ago
About this Cook
Love to cook. :-) It helps me relax. I love to experiment w/ recipes and I have no fear of spices. I love to make spice combinations that others may not have thought of...I love to make new dishes for my husband and daughter to try. It is so much fun. :-)
My favorite things to cook
Soups, stews, chilis, breads, any kind of meat dish, pasta, cakes, cookies, and candies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a chili cook off every year in November. The fun part about it is that you aren't allowed to make the same chili that you made the year before, it has to be different. :-) Also, we have a secret family recipe for Chocolate Cake and Chocolate frosting. It is to die for.
My cooking triumphs
My chili is probably my biggest triumph with my clam chowder in a close second. I love to cook, so anything that sounds good, I am determined to prefect it.
My cooking tragedies
I have a harder time with baking than cooking sometimes. I'm good at making things fall, or burn, and then not know at all what I did. I'm trying really hard to fix that.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread
Amazing!!!! This was my first attempt at making whole wheat bread and it came our amazing. My only complaint is not being able to keep my husband out of the kitchen when the bread came out. He devoured 1/2 loaf to himself lol.

Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops
My mom used to makes these when I was a little girl. She called them angel clouds, and she omitted the cocoa powder. Here is a tip. Make these at night, and when they are done, turn off the oven and let them sit in the oven over night. The next morning the centers will be perfect. Awesome with a cup of coffee.

Broccoli Chicken Divan
Made this last night, and it was a hit. I can get my 2 year old to eat broccoli just about always, but surprisingly it's the Chicken I have a hard time getting her to eat. She couldn't finish this fast enough. :-) I added some fresh garlic to the chicken when I cooked it up, and I also added pepper, poultry seasoning, and a cajan spice combo I had to the chicken as well. I added a pinch of salt, pepper, garlic powder (love garlic in our family) and some spike to the brocoli before steaming it. I didn't have any cream of broccoli, so I used cream of mushroom, and we didn't have any bread crumbs, so I decided to crumble up a piece of left over corn bread as a substatute. IT WAS AWESOME!! I would suggest doubling the cheese and I will definetly double the corn bread topping too. :-) It was great! Thank you!!!!!
