About this Cook
I love good food, good friends, and good times. I live for my children. I am a former police officer, who now stays home and takes care of my 4 kids.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake desserts, especially for the holidays. Every year I get asked to bring the desserts to any gatherings. I also love to try new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
About the only family cooking tradition that my family has is, teaching the next generation how to make "Chocolate Gravy". It is a special treat that we enjoy with biscuits.
My cooking triumphs
I don't really have any triumps, except not burning down my kitchen. Yet, anyway.
My cooking tragedies
None that come to mind right off the bat.

All American Apple Pie
This recipe ROCKS! My family wants me to make this pie several timse a month. My sister loved it so much she wanted the recipe (and she doesn't even like to bake) when she moved out of state. This one is DEFINITELY a keeper!

Easy Peach Cobbler
My daughter made this recipe for me. I was a little unsure about the cream cheese, but it actually gave it a pleasant taste twist. Though I do wish we had read the reviews first. Next time we will definitely crumb the cream cheese in with the cake mix first. My daughter rates this recipe a +10 for easiness, taste and looks.

The Best Banana Bread
I am not a big fan of banana's let alone banana bread. However, when this came out of the oven it smelled so good I just had to taste it. I spread some butter on a slice and it was delicious! I had 2 more slices that night :o) The only change I made was that I added about a cup of chopped pecans.
