Amish Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
What a great loaf of bread! I didn't change any of the ingredients, but I did as previous reviewers suggested, and ran the dough cycle and then the bake cycle. I'm going to try it again without doing the dough cycle first just to see how it turns out. I like to rub the crust with butter when it comes out, just to soften the crust. I think it makes it a little easier to slice. I love this recipe and I'm sure it will be made often in my home. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
I love this recipe! I've made it several times and it is always a hit. It tastes like the rice at one of our favorite restaurants. I usually add a little extra cilantro, because I love it, but I've made it without cilantro too. Thanks for sharing this recipe! It is a keeper!

Homemade Wonderful Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
I love this recipe! I have used it over and over again, and it is always a hit. I prefer to bake it in the oven rather than in the machine, because the top rises too much for my bread machine. Most of the time I sub 1 c. whole wheat flour for the white. I have made cinnamon raisin bread: add 1 tablespoon cinnamon, more sugar and some raisins. I have made garlic bread: add a couple of minced garlic cloves and some italian seasoning. This recipe makes great italian breadsticks, just roll it out, twist and bake.

Grilled Chicken Adobo

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
I scaled the recipe down to 4 servings, left out the bay leaf because I don't have any, and I used chicken breast instead of thighs. I thought this recipe was really good. Thighs would be better, more moist. I just never have them on hand. My picky toddler even liked his "bobo chicken." Will definitely make again. Thanks for sharing, Donna!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
I filled some with peach preserves and some with homemade pear butter. They were wonderful. I'm looking forward to a dessert version with Nutella and bananas. Great recipe!

Lentil Chili II

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
I made some changes to this recipe, but I loved the end result. I omitted the oil and butter. I used about 1 1/2 cups of onions and 3 minced garlic cloves. I used 1/2 lb. of lentils and 1/2 lb. of lean ground turkey, and I used diced tomatoes instead of crushed. I didn't adjust the spices at all, but it could have used a little more heat. I will make my version again. It was really yummy, and weight watchers- friendly, too.
