Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
These turned out perfectly. The pastry itself reminded me of something that one could buy at a bakery and the cream was delicate yet sweet in flavor. I would definitely make these again. Perfect for parties and get togethers.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
This cake was perfect. It was moist and fluffy and was not dense or dry like some other reviewers had described. I frosted it with a chocolate frosting recipe from this site and the combination was better than anything I could buy at the store. I will definitely be making this again for special occasions or whenever I have a desire for cake. Thank you for an excellent recipe.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
Tastes just like the humus found in middle eastern restaurants. This is a very addictive dip and one that I'll be making again and again. Thank you for sharing such a good recipe.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Very good cake. Thanks for the great recipe. Will definitely make this again in the future. Maybe next time I'll use coconut milk instead of 1% milk.

Condensed Milk Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Very quick and easy icing for when there is no chocolate frosting on hand. I used Hershey's milk chocolate chips instead of baking squares and the final product tasted great.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
This is a great basic marinara sauce recipe but I had to tweak it just a bit. I did add about a teaspoon or so of dried basil and about 1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasonings. I also had to add some brown sugar to counter the tartness/acidity of the whole thing. In the future I think I will use fresh basil instead of the fresh parsley and add dried parsley in its stead. In the end I was left with a very flavorful sauce that went very well with meatballs that I had made from a recipe found on this site.

This marinade tasted good and my chicken was very tender and moist. Next time I will try this with beef.

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
These are very delicious little confections. I used part semi-sweet chocolate chips and part Hershey's milk chocolate chips melted together with a little butter to make the shiny chocolate coating which tasted fantastic. In the future though, I may either increase the amount of Oreo cookie crumb or decrease the cream cheese for a more delicate consistency.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
Very, very good recipe. I read other reviewers suggestions and made a paste out of the curry powder and added it to the oil to cook before adding the onions and garlic. I believe this really made a difference in the final product. Next time I would definitely add an extra can of stewed tomatoes and a little more tomato sauce. Overall very delicious over a bed of Basmati rice.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
This turned out beautifully and made the whole apartment smell wonderful. I don't think I can ever go back to store bought bread again. This is one of the most delicious breads that I have tasted and I am proud to say that it came from my kitchen and was of my own doing. Thank you for such a great recipe. This bread is great all by itself or with a little butter and/or jelly.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
Tastes just like how sugar cookies are supposed to taste. I used halloween cookie cutters for a festive cookie. Some, which I rolled thin, turned out like crackers and reminded me of animal crackers. Other cookies I hand rolled to make regular round cookies and they were very soft and pillowy in texture. Overall a great recipe.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I didn't have almond extract and I didn't use corn syrup but instead used vanilla extract and added water to thin as needed. This tasted pretty good on top of my sugar cookies but I think I made it too thin because it turned out more like a glaze. Regardless I would definitely use this again and would use it for glazing donuts as well.

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
Tastes unbelievably good. Reminds me of grasshopper cookies which I love. I melted Andes creme de menth baking chips on the top and the result was a delicate mint flavor that seemed to permeate the entire cookie without overpowering the chocolate. These are very decadent cookies and I will definitely be making these again.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
This is my first time making pizza dough from scratch and it has been a huge success. The outer edge crust is soft and chewy on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. I brushed some olive oil on the edges before baking to help it brown a little. I made a Roma tomato, Basil and cheese pizza and the smell from the kitchen was wonderful. Thank you for such a great recipe. I may never buy frozen pizza ever again.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
I made this with Famous Dave's BBQ sauce and it is delicious. I did not put the pork into the oven rather I put it back in the slow cooker on low for 30-60 min and it is just perfect. This tastes great with baked beans. 5 stars!
