About this Cook
I've been married for 11 years and just had my 4th baby 6 weeks ago (July 2008). I have a fabulous husband and love being home with my kids!
My favorite things to cook
Mostly I LOVE to bake. I like trying new things and tweaking recipes to suit my taste. I like baking cookies, cakes, and different desserts. I also like to try different slow cooker recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I came from a big family so my mom made lots of simple casseroles. Also, I think I got my love of baking from her!
My cooking triumphs
I always feel good when I can cook for a big crowd and have it turn out fabulously. I like the challange of timing everything right and having everything turn out really delicious.
My cooking tragedies
I am intimidated by recipes that look too complicated and I avoid recipes that have many, many ingredients or ingredients that I haven't heard of. I've never been able to make good fried chicken either.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread
I add vanilla and spices like cinnamon, all spice and/or nutmeg. I haven't been brave enough to sub the oil for applesauce.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake
This was fabulous and one of those recipes that is even better the next day! I didn't have the coffee liqueor so I used Ameretto flavored coffee creamer...yum. I served it with fresh sweetened whipped cream with a hint of almond. Then topped it with fresh rasberries! I will make this again for sure!

German Apple Cake I
This cake is so moist and yummy! It turns out just like "Nanna Apple Cake" from Tastefully Simple that cost 8 dollars, and only makes an 8x8 pan. I love the crunchy top. I've made this with whole wheat flour and it turns out great, but I think it tastes better with regular white flour. Enjoy!
