Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Amazingly good little cookies. I used pecans instead of walnuts and almond extract instead of vanilla. I won't allow myself to make them often, as I would eat them all myself!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Great flavor! I added lots of spices as others did. I would only use one can of biscuits next time...maybe even try flour tortillas instead. I also added a large can of mixed veggies as others suggested. Will make again. I also used frozen chicken breasts and they did very well...didn't need extra time for them either.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This is a great recipe! I added a pound of ground beef and browned with the onion and garlic. Used two cans of diced tomatoes with basil, oregano and garlic...two cans of mixed beans. Used mini pasta and like another user, I cooked pasta separately, rinsed in cold water and added the last 10 min. Great recipe!!!!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Instead of whole tomatoes, I used Rotel tomatoes and chiles...added some kick! My nephew said it was the best soup he had ever eaten...EVER!! Served it with sour cream (didn't add it to the soup), chopped green onions, shredded cheese and chopped avocado. My daughter in law also uses fresh lime to squeeze on soup if you like...I really like the lime. Superb recipe!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I love using pasta shells, however, I found this rather strange. I couldn't decided if I just liked it or loved it! The flavor was just fabulous. I think it would make the best tacos in the world using regular taco shells or perhaps a casserole. Somehow I just equate pasta shells with Italian food.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
This was a very tasty recipe. I rated it a four because I felt it was too moist. My husband liked it better heated over the next day because it was drier. I went exactly by the recipe and the flavor was great.

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
My family loves this recipe. I put sauce on the bottom of the pan to prevent burning the bottom of pasta. It makes a lot so I freeze one portion after assembly. It freezes beautifully. I usually only make it when family is here but last time I made it, it was just me and my husband so even one dish was way too much. I froze what we didn't eat into individual containers and when we wanted it again, I just put it in a dish with a little water in the bottom and microwaved. Tasted like it was just baked. This is a great versatile dish.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2009
This is a great recipe. I used other reviewers' advice and used tri-color slaw mix and halved the dressing. Also didn't use celery. It was wonderful!

Spanish Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I don't like really sweet recipes, but this one wasn't sweet enough. Didn't have pimentos, but other than that I made it exactly by the recipe.

Summerly Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
I LOVE this recipe. I almost rated it 4 stars because my husband didn't like it. However, he only likes fried squash. I guess it's the texture he didn't like. But I give it a definite 5 star. I used one can of Rotel and one can of tomatoes with bell peppers and onions. Everything else was the same. We ate it over spaghetti with a small amount of shredded cheese on top...Yummy!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This was good, but I actually like regular pepper steak better. I didn't do the recipe as directed because I didn't have some of the ingredients....which could have been the reason it wasn't my favorite. I didn't like the soy sauce in it even though I love it on the regular kind...it was too salty and the meat actually was too tender if that's possible!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
I used chuck tender roast. Had never even heard of that cut before, but it was so tender. Also used only one can of cream of mushroom soup. Like others, I coated the roast in flour and browned it before putting in crock pot. Also used Montreal Steak seasoning on it prior to browning. Great recipe.

1-2-3 Vegetable Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
We loved this recipe! I took another user's advice and added more chili powder (1 T.) and a can of cannelini beans, cut the zucchini in chunks and simmered about 45 min. to an hour. We ate leftovers tonight over a baked potato with cheese melted on top. Yummy!
