as is was a little spicy for us. I cut down the chili powder to 2tsp, and halve the black pepper (we use freshly ground pepper and it made it really spicy with a whole tsp). i also add 1tsp cornstarch so it thickens a little and sticks to the meat better. with these changes it's a 5 star recipe for us, that we use all the time

Rainbow Clown Cake

when these came out of the oven i was worried as my cakes looked flat, and was afraid in the time it took me to color and pour, all the air i beat into it was gone, but i went a head and served it and absolutely wowed everyone! even a girl i know that does cakes for a living wants me to do her cake for her baby shower. thanks for the fantastic idea couldn't have asked for a cooler looking cake

Italian Subs - Restaurant Style

I made a couple changes because of what was available, ham and peperoni instead of sausage and prosciutto, banana peppers instead of pickles and i did not soak my lettuce in the sauce. i also toasted my sandwich. what i ended up with is one less reason to eat out. this is as good or better then anything i've gotten out, i can't wait to try it with the right kinds of meat. thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Scampi II

I loved this! We will be having this one one again and again. I added a little more lemon and cut some of the oil and it was fantastic! I was afraid it was going to be greasy with the oil but it wasn't. Definately going into rotation.

Southwestern Pasta Salad

We really enjoyed this. I upped the lime juice and cut the oil a little. I also threw in some grilled chicken and made a meal out of it. Maybe next time we'll add some taco meat instead. Also needed some extra salt for our taste.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Good as is but even better with some additional spices. Perfect for a chilly night. Becareful with your cheese. I added mine while the soup was too hot and ended up a little gritty. Not sure if this is a common problem but next time I'll let mine sit off the fire a minute before adding the cheese.

Green Bean Casserole I

Having never tried green bean casserole I couldn't have had a better base to start with. Following the suggestions of others I added about 1/4C sour cream for some of the milk, and about a cup of cheddar cheese. I'll be making this year round whether it's a holiday or not. Thanks!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Good taste, but turned out really watery even using 1/4C cornstarch. Will use this recipe but will cook the apples before baking to cut down on the liquid problem.
