Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
This was a delicious salad and was very easy to make! I left out the avocado and green onions because I didn't have them on hand, but it still turned out great! A tip for the pecans... add a drop of water to the pan to help dissolve the sugar faster to prevent clumping. With a little more sugar and some cinnamon, the pecans are a great snack on their own! Thanks for a great recipe!

Sauteed Cherry Tomatoes with Garlic and Basil

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
The tomatoes turned out to be a pretty good side dish. I think next time, I will roast them in the oven with some crushed garlic and add the basil at the end. But this was a fast, easy alternative.

Hot Spiced Cider

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
This recipe was a hit with my entire family. It was gone within a matter of a few minutes. I used coffee filters to hold the spices. Instead of quartering the orange, I added the juice to the cider and peeled the rind off and dropped it in as well. It was much easier than fitting the quarters into the coffee filters. Thanks for a great recipe!

Delicious Recipe! I used hot Italian sausage instead of the sweet, and it turned out great! I will definitely be making this again. Thanks!!

Chicken Breasts with Herb Basting Sauce

Reviewed: May 12, 2007
WONDERFUL recipe! I doubled the sauce as some suggested, and used skinless boneless chicken breasts. They took only 30 min at 425 and I didn't do any baisting. Served with garlic red mashed potatoes and corn. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
This recipe was great! I only had an hour or so to marinate the pork, but it still came out exceptionally tender. I didn’t have any apple jelly on hand, so I made it with Crushed Applesauce and it still tasted pretty good. Will definitely make again…Thanks!

Romantic Chicken with Artichokes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Delicious base for a great recipe! I used chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts because we’re dark meat lovers, so it took a little longer than the recipe called for. I also added a couple handfuls of sundried tomatoes, 2 tbs lemon juice, 1.5 tbs dried parsley, and 5 cloves minced garlic. Rather than using the juice from the artichokes, I added another ½ cup of white wine. I served it with Orzo with Parmesan and Basil Recipe from the site. Next time I will add more mushrooms and artichokes because they act as a great side dish. Great Meal!

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
This turned out great! I made the recipe exactly as written except for the cilantro. I didn't have it on hand, but I will definitely add it next time. I will also add more chick en and pull it rather than cube it for a meatier texture for the soup. Contrary to what other people said, I enjoyed that it was more soupy. Once you added the tortilla chips to the top, they soaked up the juices. I also added a spoonfull of sourcream before serving. Yum!

Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
Really easy weeknight recipe. I didn't have any fresh or diced tomatoes on hand, so I substituted crushed tomatoes instead. Sauce was DELICIOUS! I also substituted rissotto instead of the pasta which gave it a richer taste. I think next time I will make it in the crockpot so the pork will be more tender.

Herbed Sweet 'n' Sour Chicken

LOVED the olive oil mixture! It was a huge hit with my boyfriend and I. I think next time I will use it in a stirfry with lots of veggies over white rice instead of baking it.

French Onion Soup V

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
I did not particularly care for this recipe. I cooked it according to the directions and it came out flavorless and the onions were way undercooked. I Would not recommend this recipe to anyone.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
Great Recipe! I only put in 1/2 a cup of romano cheese to cut back on the fat and calories and substituted sundried tomatoes instead of ripe tomatoes because I didn't have them on hand. Will add some roasted pine nuts next time for some added crunch and a little more garlic. My boyfriend thought it was restaurant worthy! Thanks for the great recipe!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This soup was delicious! I used many of the tips from other reviews and it made a great soup! I uesd 2 cans of clams and a dozen fresh clams. I also added a jar of clam juice to thin it out a little and add some more flavor. Will definitely use a few more veggies next time! Thanks!

Rollups

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
I thought this recipe was great. I wrapped strips of bacon around the outside and breaded the rollup before I baked it which added a great crisp to it. Next time, I will probably cook the bacon ahead of time and crumble it into the cream cheese. It didn't quite crisp up as I would have liked it too.
