Beef and Guinness® Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
I don't normally rate foods, but this was probably the best thing I've ever fixed. I'm doing weight watchers and this was fairly easy to calculate (for points). The meat was extremely tender and I used Guinness Extra Stout. Man this was good...and smelling it cook for over 2 hours just makes you want it more. Awesome, awesome recipe! Thanks!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
We used Frank's Buffalo Wing Hot Sauce (along with the butter, pepper and garlic powder) for the sauce. Tasted delicious. Very good recipe, but we don't fry much and it took a while to do (and to clean up the oily mess). If you have a small fryer machine it might be easier. But the recipe is delicious. Mike in Knoxville

Dave's Low Country Boil

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
AWESOME! I always look for the high-rated recipes, but usually don't get it exactly right and mess something up. Not this time...every bit of this was excellent. I think it is the best thing my wife and I ever made. We did add a lemon and a few onions from our garden. Not sure how much Old Bay Seasoning everybody uses, but we had a large pot and poured in about half a can...it was outstanding. The seafood was a little pricy, but well worth it - you couldn't go out to eat for what we spent on this feast. I told the lady at the seafood counter what I was making, and she grabbed all of the loose crab parts (lots of claws) which was good for this recipe. I love it! FIVE STARS (because I can't go any higher). Thanks, Mike in Knoxville!

Asparagus with Blue Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
My wife says this is the best thing I ever made. I did use a whole lot more (like 5 times more) blue cheese. I put some white pepper in there also. Yummy. I used it primarily for a steak covering...I screwed up and burned the steaks very bad (almost called the fire department), but recovered beautifully with this sauce. We ate every bit of those nasty burnt steaks because of the fantastic sauce. Highly, highly recommend for covereing anything. Thanks!!!!!

Yummy Yellow Taters

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
These were the best potatos I ever had. Even my wife (the cook) says these were the best potatos she ever had! We used some basil that my wife grew...yummy. She didn't like the yellow food coloring, but I did and so did the kids. Makes them look buttery. Oh my...we'll never make another potato recipe. Thanks!!!!!

Dad's Steak Rub

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
We made this exactly as called for in the recipe, but really didn't like the taste. It was very sweet and we used very expensive steaks for the recipe, so my wife and I were disappointed. If you want a sweet steak it would be good.

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2007
I love the recipe. However, I'm a tried and true Big Orange, Univ of Tennessee Vols Fan...so I improvised by adding one cup of grated cheddar cheese (orange) and making the biscuits in the shape of Tennessee. We now have "Tennessee Biscuits". Ha. They are good only because the Kentucky Biscuit recipe is good...highly recommend!!!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2006
Fairly easy to make. We added a cooked apple to the recipe and roasted pecans on top. It had an overpowering taste of cream cheese which I didn't care for. I think next time we will eliminate that ingrediant altogether and it will taste more like I expected.
